Anfoega SHS receives ultra-modern administration and library block

Anfoega Senior High School has marked a historic milestone with the official commissioning of a modern Administration and Library Block, a facility expected to transform teaching, learning, and administration at the school.

The project, which began in 2014, stalled for nearly eight years but was revived and completed within six months under the current government’s renewed push for improved educational infrastructure.

At the handover ceremony, the District Chief Executive for North Dayi, Mr. Ernest Adevor, an alumnus and former tutor of Anfoega SHS, hailed the project’s completion as a symbol of government’s commitment to investing in the future of Ghanaian students. He expressed personal pride in seeing his alma mater benefit from such a vital development.

Key Role of Stakeholders
Much of the credit for the project’s revival was directed at North Dayi MP, Hon. Joycelyn Tetteh, whose relentless advocacy and follow-ups ensured that the stalled project was brought back to life. Known for her strong support for education, youth empowerment, and infrastructure, Hon. Tetteh has been a consistent voice championing growth at Anfoega SHS.

The contractor was also commended for his dedication and timely execution of the works, ensuring the facility was ready for use without further delays.

Future Prospects
The administration block is not the end of the road for Anfoega SHS. Work has already resumed on an ultra-modern dining hall, expected to be completed in time for the school’s 60th anniversary in November. This project, once finished, will not only ease congestion but also support the government’s commitment to ending the double-track system and restoring normal academic schedules.

Mr. Adevor’s involvement—both as DCE and as a proud old student—was warmly acknowledged by the Anfoega Senior High School Old Students’ Association (ANFOSA), which praised his dedication to giving back to the institution and his leadership in pursuing excellence for the district.

The commissioning of the Administration and Library Block marks a new chapter for Anfoega SHS, reflecting a sustained focus on strengthening education in North Dayi and beyond.
