Some people say they have ideas; I have both ideas and creativity — Kennedy Agyapong
Former Assin Central Member of Parliament, Kennedy Agyapong, has touted himself as the best person to lead the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) into the 2028 general elections.
The veteran politician and businessman noted that some of his contenders in the flagbearer race present themselves as the repository of ideas.
But according to him, he combines both ideas and creativity, making him the most suitable to win power for the party.
Speaking after filing his nomination forms at the party’s head office in Accra on Wednesday, August 27, Mr. Agyapong urged delegates to give him the nod, promising to create jobs and make lives better for Ghanaians.
“We are no more going to listen to rhetorics. We want somebody who can create jobs for the youth of this country. I always say that any human being without a job has no life. Vote for Kennedy Agyapong if you want life. Some people say they have ideas. I have both ideas and creativity,” he stressed.
He added that he has proven capacity over the years and therefore deserves the trust of the party.
“I have done it before and I continue to do it, so if I tell you that I am going to create jobs, believe in me. Let’s ask some of the candidates what they have done,” he stated.
His remarks appeared to be an indirect jab at the camp of former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, whose supporters, in response to what they describe as Mr. Agyapong’s show of money, have also touted him as rich in ideas with achievements to show.
The NPP has scheduled January 31, 2026, to elect its flagbearer for the 2028 polls.
Other party stalwarts in the race include former General Secretary Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, Abetifi MP Bryan Acheampong, and Bosomtwe MP Dr. Osei Yaw Adutwum.
