Afigya Kwabre North DCE wraps up community tour, pledges inclusive development

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Afigya Kwabre North, Hon. Emmanuel Jackson Agumah, has concluded a week-long familiarisation tour across the district, engaging traditional leaders, opinion leaders, and key stakeholders.

The tour, which ended over the weekend, served as an introduction of the new DCE and his departmental heads to the people. It also provided an opportunity for him to seek guidance and support from chiefs as he begins his tenure as the representative of President John Dramani Mahama’s government in the district.

During his interactions, Hon. Agumah called on traditional authorities to be open with him and offer constructive criticism whenever necessary. “Just as President John Dramani Mahama has encouraged, I urge you to correct me whenever I go wrong,” he appealed.

Acknowledging the development challenges in the area, the DCE emphasized the urgent need for collaboration. “Afigya Kwabre North is underdeveloped. I cannot do this alone. I need the full support and cooperation of our chiefs and all stakeholders to bring meaningful change,” he said.

Hon. Agumah was warmly received throughout the district, with colourful ceremonies held in various palaces and community durbar grounds to welcome him. Chiefs expressed their appreciation for the respect and recognition shown to them, which they said had been lacking in previous administrations.

The traditional leaders pledged their unwavering support to the DCE, expressing confidence in his ability to transform the district. They also commended President John Dramani Mahama for appointing someone they described as a capable and respectful leader.

“We believe Hon. Emmanuel Jackson Agumah is more than capable of changing the development narrative of Afigya Kwabre North,” one chief stated, echoing the collective optimism of the traditional authorities.
