Here are the increased data packages at no extra costs effective July 1
Telecommunication networks in Ghana will from July 1 increase the volume of data bundles offered to customers without any increase in cost.
This was announced by the Minister of Communications and Digital Innovations, Samuel Nartey George, at a press conference in Accra on Tuesday, June 10.
According to the minister, Telecel Ghana and AT (formerly AirtelTigo) will increase all data bundles by 10 percent, while MTN Ghana will implement a 15 percent increment across board.
“In the case of AirtelTigo, the GHS400 bundle which currently gives 195GB will be increased to 236GB,” he said, adding, “Telecel’s GHS400 bundle, which now gives 90GB, will go up to 250GB.”
Sam George added that MTN Ghana will restore its GHS399 bundle, which was previously reduced to GHS350 offering 92.88GB, back to its original offer for a new 214GB.
This is in fulfilment of the minister’s earlier promise to Ghanaians that the cost of data will reduce by the end of 2025.
Delivering a keynote address at the commemoration of the 2025 World Telecommunication and Information Society Day on Monday, May 19, Sam George said his ministry, together with key stakeholders were working to ensure that data becomes more affordable.
“And so to the young people of our country and the people of this country, my promise was that by the end of this year, we’ll see prices of data drop and I remain committed to it. We will deliver on that, but trust the process,” he said at the time.
