Ahmadiyya Muslim women urged to dedicate their lives to the service of Allah
Members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Women's Association (Lajna Ima’illah), Ghana, have been called upon to dedicate their lives wholly to the service of Allah, having affirmed their belief that “there is none worthy of worship except Him.”
Delivering the keynote address at the 2nd Annual Regional Ijtema’a (Rally) of the Central Regional Chapter of the Association held recently at Ekumfi Essarkyir, Hajia Fatiha Mubeena Adusei, an Executive Member of the Association, urged the women to make sacrifices in the path of God.
Quoting from Islamic texts, she said, "persons who devote all their faculties to the path of God, actively doing truly righteous deeds with their words and their entire life purely for the sake of God, will have a special reward and God will deliver him from fear and grief." (Siraj-ud Din ‘Isa’i ke Char Swalon ka Jawab, Ruhani Khaza’in, vol. 12, p. 344).
Themed “Contributing Our Part, A Call to Active Service in Lajna,” the rally brought together hundreds of members from 12 circuits and 37 zones in the Central Region. It was an opportunity to reflect on past pledges, assess progress, and renew their commitment to service in the name of Allah.
Hajia Adusei challenged members to reflect on their faithfulness to their previous commitments. “If we have honoured promises and pledges we have previously made to the Almighty God, in our actions and deeds, how come we are here again to call for active service in God’s work?" she asked.
She emphasized that becoming a true Ahmadi Muslim involves fulfilling the pledge to prefer faith over worldly matters. “The Association pledge which prefers faith over the world, is a pledge that everyone who is constantly linked with the Jama‘at and attends meetings and Ijtema’s repeats over and over again.”
She continued, “Banners are set up at every Ijtema, Jalsa, among others, often, one of these banners displays the idea of giving preference to faith over the world, why has this matter been given so much importance?” she quizzed.
Hajia Adusei underscored the difficulty of prioritizing faith, adding that it requires sincere effort and reliance on divine support. “It is not an easy task to act upon this requirement and to achieve it, one must constantly ask for Allah’s help, which is established with His grace.”
She encouraged members to maintain their spiritual discipline: “By offering Salat on time and in congregation, by spending in the cause of Allah and helping the needy, we can establish ourselves upon the correct religion.”
Hajia Adusei also urged members to live according to Islamic teachings in their communities, stressing that this obedience would earn them divine favor. “Perfect love requires perfect understanding; thus, the word Islam points to the fact that true sacrifice needs perfect understanding and perfect love which needs nothing else."
She cited the Holy Qur’an to reinforce her message: “As it is stated in the Holy Qur’an chapter 2:113 that, ‘whoever submits himself completely to Allah, while he is excellent in conduct, shall receive have reward from him and neither fear nor grief will be on such people’.”
The Guest of Honour, Nana Dr. Ama Amissah III, Queen Mother of the Mankessim Traditional Area, also addressed the gathering. She encouraged the women to take their health seriously by going for medical checkups at least twice a year. She noted that good health was essential for active service to Allah and their communities.
“It is only when they are physically strong they can go about their daily works without hindrances, worship Allah and at rendering service's in his name to receive the grace surrounding worshiping and services,” she said.
Other dignitaries who graced the occasion and delivered speeches included Dr. Fatima Eshun, a lecturer at the University of Environment and Sustainable Development, who chaired the event; Nana Fatima Mohammed Esi Esiwaa III, Queen Mother of the Enyan Traditional Area; Hajia Sarah Bonsu, Special Guest; and Madam Sarah Eduam, Central Regional Sadr of the Association.
