CropLife Ghana pledges to support feed Ghana Programme with quality inputs

President of CropLife Ghana, a leading association of manufacturers, importers, and distributors of agricultural inputs in the country, Mr. Bernard Okutu says the Association is doubling down on its commitment to ensuring high-quality agricultural products are accessible to every farmer across the country.

This resolve was underscored during a productive meeting between CropLife Ghana's leadership and Hon. John Dumelo, Deputy Minister for Food and Agriculture.

The discussion centered on the critical role industry stakeholders play in the successful implementation of key government initiatives, such as the Feed Ghana Programme.

The meeting highlighted several pressing issues, including the need to expedite the processing of tax exemption documents for agricultural inputs.

Speaking to Modernghana's Nurudeen, Mr. Bernard said the tax exemption is crucial for alleviating logistical challenges at the ports and enabling member companies to deliver essential products to farmers more efficiently.

According to him, with 23 member companies, including major players like Yara Ghana, Bayer, and Corteva, CropLife Ghana is well-positioned to drive positive change in the agricultural sector by working closely with the government and other stakeholders.

Mr. Bernard stated that his outfit aims to empower farmers and contribute to Ghana's food security landscape.

He said the organisation's affiliation with CropLife Africa Middle East and CropLife International further strengthens its capacity to promote sound science and agricultural technology in the context of sustainable development.

He assured that the organisation will continue to advocate for the interests of its members and the farming community, adding that the efforts are expected to have a lasting impact on the country's agricultural sector.
