Former High Commissioner to India, Sam Pee Yalley dies
Ghana has lost one of its seasoned diplomats and dedicated public servants, Sam Pee Yalley, who served as High Commissioner to India and President of the NDC Professionals Forum.
The cause of his sudden death remains unknown, leaving colleagues, friends, and supporters in shock.
News of his passing was confirmed on Sunday, April 6, by Deputy National Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Malik Basintale, in a heartfelt Facebook tribute.
“You were a good man! We shall meet again someday H.E, as I always called you,” wrote Basintale, who also serves as Acting Managing Director of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), sharing his sorrow with a crying emoji.
Ambassador Yalley, a respected lawyer by training, had a long and distinguished career in public service. He previously held the position of Deputy Chief Executive Officer at the National Pensions Regulatory Authority before being appointed as Ghana’s Ambassador to India by President John Dramani Mahama in 2014.
Beyond his diplomatic and legal roles, Sam Pee Yalley was recognized for championing the empowerment of women in leadership, making him a prominent advocate for gender equity in governance.
His legacy, marked by service, integrity, and intellect, leaves an indelible mark on Ghana’s political and diplomatic landscape.
