Open Letter To NDC Footsoldiers On Social Media On The Incessant Attacks On Hon. Dr. Mohammad Amin Adam And Others
Dear NDC footsoldiers!
I write this important piece to address a very sensitive matter of great concern and I hope this finds you hale and hearty.
Largely, do you know what's amusing about some of you as NDC footsoldiers on social media? Lend me your ears and listen with rapt attention.
You are the same people who don't even know the number of pages of your own 2025 budget statement and economic policy presented to Parliament by the Finance Minister.
But you are quick like the speed of light to mock and subject great intellectuals to public ridicule for lack of comprehension on certain pertinent matters of national concern.
Characters like you were on the Former Finance Minister, Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam when he intelligently exposed the current Minister on the brouhaha surrounding the scrapping of the betting tax.
Dr. Anta, in his response to the Finance Minister, stated clearly that what Dr. Ato Forson sought to do in the budget was an error regarding the removal of a 10% withholding tax on winnings of the lottery.
This was captured in the Budget statement presented to Parliament but it has become the subject of discussion since the Former Finance Minister punched holes into what the Minister wanted to do.
Fast forward to the crass ignorance exhibited by you NDC footsoldiers on social media, you tried all means to smear or paint the Former Finance Minister black for the insightful and deep argument made.
Combing through social media, what struck me was the inability of you ignoramus bunch to even differentiate an abridged version and the full version of the 2025 budget.
In fact, I confronted some of you who were confident in your lack of understanding of these basic things but were all over social media parading yourselves as intellectuals in the NDC.
What kind of warp logic is that? You are unable to decipher the above; however, you have the impetus and temerity to mock a powerhouse like Hon. Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam when it comes to the vast knowledge and deep thinking insight on Finance and economics.
To buttress my point, Imam Ali (as) said: "Don't hate what you don't know for the greater part of knowledge lies in what you don't know ".
This educative quote clearly depicts the situation you NDC footsoldiers on social media find yours never in. You are fast to judge but lack the fundamental knowledge to read and understand simple things.
When the sharp-witted Former Finance Minister made the statement on the betting tax, instead of pondering over and advancing an intellectual argument, you rather celebrated your glaring and disastrous ignorance.
Strangely, what was appalling was the argument that we were in the month of Ramadan, and he lied. Meanwhile, you bunch of ignorant NDC footsoldiers rejoiced and celebrated your laughable stance on 69 and 70-page assertions.
This is absurd and bizarre, to say the least, and since you have difficulty in differentiating the abridged version and the full version of the budget, I don't blame you much for the scavenger job you are doing for attention.
To state it as it is, Hon. Dr. Mohammad Amin Adam has been in politics for so long and some of you must lower yourselves and learn from this seasoned and astute politician who has made an indelible mark for himself.
He has been through the mill, and he equally has unmatched leadership acumen and knowledge in our political landscape. Hon. Dr. Anta has established himself with a great sense of honesty, magnanimity, integrity, compassion, and foresight.
Put simply; I'm not surprised about some of the skewed, unintelligent, and biased judgments on the person of Hon. Dr. Anta because he has been your target for his ability to snatch the Karaga seat from your political Party, NDC.
The pains you are going through as NDC footsoldiers are unbearable due to the Former Finance Minister's nonpareil achievements in politics and social life.
In conclusion, I script this piece to implore our brothers in NDC, especially the footsoldiers from the Northern Region to be cautious and meticulous of their incessant attacks on our revered legislatures.
We can equally subject their own to what they continue to do, but we are measured in our political discourse.
Shalom!
