Hon. Adams Abdul Salam reaffirms commitment to New Edubiase development
Hon. Adams Abdul Salam, Member of Parliament for the New Edubiase Constituency in the Ashanti Region, has reiterated his dedication to the constituency’s development, with the completion of a long-abandoned ultra-modern stadium as a top priority.
In an exclusive interview, the MP outlined his vision to enhance sports activities, improve infrastructure, and tackle pressing challenges facing his constituents. The stadium project, initiated nearly a decade ago under the John Dramani Mahama-led NDC administration, stalled after the transition to the NPP government in 2020. Hon. Salam is determined to see its completion, ensuring it serves as a hub for sporting events and community activities.
"Sports not only promote good health among the youth but also contribute to national economic growth," he stated.
Infrastructure Development: Road Network Upgrades
Beyond the stadium, Hon. Salam has identified key infrastructure projects as part of his broader development agenda. He is focused on completing a 25-kilometer road network linking Menaim to Dotom, Subriso Nkwanta, and Nkoransa-Nkwanta. Acknowledging the vital role of road infrastructure in economic development, he pledged to see these projects through, improving accessibility and boosting local trade.
Enhancing Security and Combating Illegal Mining
Recognizing security as a cornerstone of economic growth and stability, the MP is collaborating with local security agencies to maintain peace in the constituency. He has supported community policing initiatives and encouraged night patrols to deter criminal activity.
He also addressed the issue of illegal mining (galamsey), pledging to work closely with the District Assembly and other stakeholders to curb its impact. Additionally, he expressed his willingness to cooperate with the National Anti-Galamsey Task Force should they be deployed to the area. Hon. Salam reassured his constituents that he remains committed to keeping New Edubiase a conflict-free zone and will intervene swiftly in any situation that threatens peace.
Investing in Job Creation, Education, Health, and the Environment
Hon. Salam is committed to improving the lives of his constituents across multiple sectors. He plans to support schools by providing essential resources such as updated furniture, textbooks, and other learning materials to create a more conducive educational environment. He also unveiled plans to establish either a Teacher Training College or a Nursing Training College in the constituency, providing local youth with valuable training and career opportunities.
His development agenda extends to healthcare, power supply, and environmental sustainability, ensuring that communities have access to basic necessities that enhance their overall quality of life.
A Call for Unity and Support
Hon. Adams Abdul Salam called on residents of the New Edubiase Constituency to support his development efforts, emphasizing that these projects will benefit everyone, regardless of political affiliation.
"When these projects are completed, they will serve us all, beyond political differences. I urge you to open your hearts and rally behind me to make them a reality," he appealed.
