SONA In This Drape Is Laughable At Best

In the recent State of the Nation Address, President John Mahama attempted to paint a gloomy picture of Ghana’s economy, conveniently blaming the previous administration for financial difficulties. However, the speech was nothing more than a desperate attempt to mislead Ghanaians and rewrite history, ignoring their own failures when he was in power.

Presidency boldly claimed that there is no money in the system, presidency currently in office, have no problem lavishly spending on luxury vehicles for the presidency while simultaneously scrapping allowances for teacher and nursing trainees. How does he now turn around and accuse the previous government of mismanaging resources? The hypocrisy is deafening.

One of the most glaring contradictions in president Mahama’s address was his stance on the Free Senior High School policy. President Mahama and the NDC vehemently opposed Free SHS, claiming it was unsustainable. Yet, after seeing its massive success, they now pretend to support it. The previous government, despite economic challenges, kept the feeding and tuition of students intact, something this administration would never have done based on their track record. If this administration truly cared about education, why did they allowances for teacher and nursing trainees when he promised to make education more accessible?

Presidency call for transparency and accountability in this drape is alaughable at best. Under his watch, Ghana witnessed some of the worst financial scandals in recent history, including the dubious bus rebranding contract, the GYEEDA and SADA corruption scandals, and reckless borrowing that crippled the economy.

Ghanaians have not forgotten how his administration collapsed businesses, worsened power crises , and increased unemployment due to poor financial management.

Many are of the view that the State of the Nation Address was nothing more than a well-rehearsed political gimmick, designed to distract from his own failures and shift blame to the previous administration. Ghanaians are wide awake aside all the blaming Ghanaians do not need just lectures fix the country for Ghanaians.

If Presidency truly believes in good governance, they should first correct failures before trying to lecture the nation on accountability.Infact the previous administration must be held to souce in order to prove impurity but let the judiciary operate with that.

The era of deception is over, even though Ghanaians are unimpressed about this kind of leadership however pesidency should focus on fixing the country as Promised.
