Kwame Anyimadu-Antwi orchestrated my OSP arrest in 2024 — Kofi Ofosu Nkansah
Former Chief Executive Officer of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP), Kofi Ofosu Nkansah, has accused Asante Akim Central MP, Kwame Anyimadu-Antwi, of being behind his arrest by the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) in 2024.
The former NEIP boss was arrested by the Special Prosecutor for allegedly distributing money to delegates ahead of the NPP parliamentary primaries. Following the report, he was taken into custody and later transported to his office in Accra to assist with investigations.
Reflecting on the incident in a social media post on Wednesday, February 19, Mr. Nkansah alleged that the MP misrepresented a meeting he had with Chairman Wontumi and the MCE, Yaw Kwakye, to the OSP.
“The MP would take a report from the MCE, Yaw Kwakye, on an internal party meeting between myself, Chairman Wontumi, and the MCE, and use proxies to forward a misrepresentation of this meeting to the OSP,” he claimed.
Mr. Nkansah further stated that he was informed of the MP’s alleged involvement by a former ally who had switched sides.
“I know this because someone he discussed this with switched to my camp and briefed me,” he said.
According to him, the lawmaker has repeatedly accused him of being disrespectful, a claim he believes stems from their past political contest.
“In my entire life, the only person who tells people I don’t respect is my MP, Hon. Kwame Anyimadu-Antwi. And this is because I contested him and gave him certain responses based on his own actions—something expected in every election, irrespective of the age difference between candidates,” he stated.
He also recounted an incident during their first contest, where he alleged that the MP organized thugs to attack his supporters.
“For instance, during our first contest, he organized thugs to attack my supporters, and I also attacked him verbally here. He asked for an apology from me, and I told him to first apologize for unleashing thugs on my supporters before getting that apology. He didn’t, so I also didn’t,” he added.
