It's Dehumanizing And Sheer Wickedness To Revoke The Appointments Of The Ghanaian Youth
I write this piece to articulate my views on the ongoing serious matter concerning the revocation of the appointments of some Ghanaian youth who were engaged by the erstwhile administration led by Former President Nana Addo.
Mr. President, your decision through the Chief of Staff to revoke the appointments of Ghanaian youth who were engaged after the Elections is insensitive and sheered wickedness, and it's not in line with your agenda to create more jobs for the youth.
Mr President, remember you were given the mandate by Ghanaians to better their lives and not to add more misery and also aggravate the difficulties faced by some of them.
Governance is a continuous process and simply because your predecessor engaged them doesn't mean you should take this inhumane action to halt their appointments with impunity.
Indeed, the Former President's term ended on the midnight of the day you were sworn in accordingly to become the President to steer the affairs of the Country as the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces.
It's disheartening and scandalous for such a move by you to cause the young ones so much pain who were happily engaged through due process of the laws governing our democratic principles and values.
To say the least, your RESET AGENDA is on a nosedive looking at all these ill-thought decisions taken to bring more hardship and burden on the Ghanaian youth who were legally recruited or given an appointment.
In all sincerity, this act of insensitivity will cause more harm than good, especially to the large number of unemployed graduates who are involved in the orders to halt their appointments with immediate effect.
Mr President, what will be the state of your 24-hour economy policy if you can't continue the recruitment being done by your predecessor, Former President Nana Addo?
It's mind-blowing considering the sort of mental trauma and stress these young energetic people would be going through since this communique was issued by the Chief of Staff at the Presidency.
Clearly, this is a bad precedent, and the earlier you look into the matter, the better to save lives and the psychological trauma these affected people would be going through. This is unacceptable and disgusting, to say the least as a President.
Mr President, the Ghanaian youth voted for you to continue the good legacies of your predecessor but not to compound the challenges faced through this wicked and dehumanizing posture by revoking their appointments without considering their plights.
If the agenda and the thinking were that these people were NPP members, again, it's imperative for you to also think twice that we have NDC members who were also engaged by your predecessor.
Further, the consequences of these actions will be dire moving forward as a Nation where future governments may repeat this bad precedence you have set through this disengagement and the revocation of the appointments of Ghanaians recruited.
In a nutshell, this is not the Reset you promised Ghanaians, and it's too early for this move and other politically motivated approaches adopted within the last month of your tenure as President of the Republic of Ghana.
In short, if you can't absorb these appointments in this crucial state, what should Ghanaians expect from you? The worst in the coming days, weeks, months, and years under your reign as the commander in Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces.
In summary, the confidence Ghanaians repose in you will continue to diminish for this dehumanizing and wicked act to revoke the appointments of these people which some of them queued to vote massively for you, and you are abusing the powers entrusted into your hands as a President.
With all due respect, I expect a thorough and second look at this action taken to reinstate the appointments of these young, energetic Ghanaians or face us in court for legal redress on this sensitive matter.
My regards!
