Ken Ofori-Atta is fugitive of justice, evading investigation over SML, National Cathedral, two other cases — OSP

The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has declared former Finance Minister Ken Ofori Atta a fugitive of justice.

The OSP noted that the former Finance Minister is wanted for corruption-related offences.

Addressing the press today Tuesday, February 12, Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng says the former Finance Minister is a suspect in the SML contract scandal, the procurement breaches in the stalled National Cathedral project and two other high-profile cases.

He indicated that Ken Ofori-Atta has been evading investigation.

According to him, the former Finance Minister has refused to honour several invitations with the excuse that he was out of the country indefinitely for medical treatment.

The OSP indicated their investigation that the Finance Minister is ill and cannot honour its invitation at this material time coupled with a purported medical letter is just a ruse. He added that the medical letter is intended for him not to report voluntarily.

The OSP has asked the former Finance Minister to voluntarily turn himself in or be forced back to face investigation.

Kissi Agyebeng also debunked reports that the OSP sent military men to raid Ken Ofori-Atta's house on Tuesday, February 11.

According to him, intel reveals that the purported raid is an imposter action to derail its investigation.

He added that the former Finance Minister staged his raid to discredit its investigation and to court public sympathy.

Ken Ofori-Atta and other former government officials are being investigated by the OSP for criminal conduct.
