I’ll prioritize NDC youth over others; I’ve my biases — NYA boss

Osman Ayariga, Acting Chief Executive Officer of the National Youth Authority (NYA)

Osman Ayariga, Acting Chief Executive Officer of the National Youth Authority (NYA), has stated that youth affiliated with the National Democratic Congress (NDC) will be his first priority.

According to Mr. Ayariga, although Ghana’s youth population is diverse, with many being non-partisan or floating voters, there is nothing wrong with prioritizing his party’s youth.

The former Deputy NDC National Youth Organizer made these remarks during an interview on Accra-based GHOne TV.

“My first preference is the NDC youth; I’m not going to lie. If given the choice, my first preference will be NDC youth. They are Ghanaians too,” he said.

He further assured that all Ghanaian youth will be given the opportunity to submit proposals for consideration, regardless of political affiliation.

However, he admitted that when faced with equally qualified candidates from different political parties, his discretion would favor the NDC youth.

“I’m saying that from my preference, I will deal with the NDC youth first before moving to others. Of course, I’ll go for the Ghanaian who is NDC. But don’t get it wrong—whether NDC or NPP, they are Ghanaian youth first,” he clarified.

Mr. Ayariga emphasized that political affiliation does not affect his overall decision-making at the authority.

He assured the public that proposals brought before him, irrespective of political color, would be given fair consideration.

“If you bring a proposal for me to implement, I will make sure it is implemented, whether you are NDC or NPP. But if I have an opportunity to choose between an equally qualified NDC youth and an NPP youth, and it is left to my discretion, I will give it to the NDC youth,” he stressed.
