Check full list of Mahama’s 13 deputy ministerial nominees as Apaak, Suhuyini, Brogya Genfi make the cut

Under Articles 78(1) and 79(1) of the 1992 Constitution, President John Dramani Mahama has proposed 13 people for deputy ministerial posts in a various of ministries.

The nominations, who were made public by the presidency in a formal statement on Wednesday, February 5, are anticipated to support the work of substantive ministers and advance government policy in their fields.

Through the Speaker, the names have been sent to Parliament for vetting and subsequent approval by the House.

Notable individuals are among the nominations, such as Alhassan Suhuyini, who is nominated as Deputy Minister for Roads and Highways, and Dr. Clement Abas Apaak, who has been appointed Deputy Minister for Education.

The list also includes Justice Srem-Sai as Deputy Minister for Justice and Attorney General, Thomas Nyarko Ampem as Deputy Finance Minister, and John Kofi Setor Dumelo, a well-known crusader for youth participation in agriculture, as Deputy Minister for Food and Agriculture.

7. Ministry of Justice & Attorney General – Justice Srem-Sai

8. Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources – Yusif Sulemana

9. Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs – Rita Naa Odoley Sowah

10. Ministry of Works, Housing and Water Resources – Gizella Tettey-Agbotui

11. Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts – Yussif Issaka Jajah

12. Ministry of Food and Agriculture – John Kofi Setor Dumelo

13. Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry – Samson Ahi

Lydia Lamisi Akanvariba has also been nominated by President Mahama to be the Minister of State responsible for Public Sector Reforms.
