C/R: Decomposed body found at Gomoa Potsin

The decomposing body of a man, believed to be in his late 20s, has been discovered near an electricity pole in Gomoa Potsin, located in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region.

The unidentified man is suspected to have been involved in an attempted electricity transmission cable theft, which caused a power outage in parts of the Blue House Estate on Saturday, January 25, 2025.

Beside the body, residents found a pair of pliers and a backpack containing various tools, further suggesting a connection to the tampered power lines.

Local residents, noticing disruptions in electricity supply, alerted the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) to investigate.

Ebo Anderson, Chairman of the Gomoa Potsin Watchdog Committee, expressed concern over the rising cases of electricity theft in the region and urged residents to stay vigilant.
