Education Minister-designate Haruna Iddrisu has highlighted his unwavering connection to the people of Tamale South as his most cherished political asset.

Speaking on Monday, January 20, 2025, the former Minority Leader reflected on his political journey, expressing neither bitterness nor regret over his removal from the leadership role in the 8th Parliament.

He framed the change as a collective decision made in line with party processes and principles.

“There were some decisions that you are guided collectively by the party, and then we take a decision. But as I said, I have never, ever regretted being changed as Minority Leader. I don’t carry guilt in my heart,” Haruna affirmed.

He also credited his faith and spiritual grounding for helping him navigate the challenges of leadership, sharing a Quranic verse he often discusses with his mother, “God does not give you a burden you cannot carry.”

Haruna Iddrisu expressed deep gratitude to his constituents and local leaders, stating, “I keep telling my colleagues that my greatest asset is the preservation of Tamale South.

“I thank the chiefs behind me and the people of Tamale South for giving me religious trust to keep the seat.”

The long-serving Member of Parliament emphasized that his legacy lies in the enduring trust and support of his people, which he values above titles and positions.
