A 'Closed' Letter To The President H.E John Dramani Mahama
Your Excellency, the president of Ghana,
As I congratulate you on your resounding historic victory with a two-third majority in Parliament (Independent Parliamentarians cementing that fact), I equally praise you and your vice for penning yourselves in the history books as first former president to be re-elected in a grand class, and first female vice president of Ghana.
Please lend me your ears, because I know this piece and many of its kind will eventually near your ears buzzing like the disturbing sound of a Ghanaian mosquito. Not the human mosquito you are already acquainted with as the General.
Please know that, I was relieved to know that you did not plagiarize any speech from any past foreign president on your inauguration day, January 7, 2025. If you had so done, your presidency will have been chaotic and near cursed.
Equally, I did not hear you use the words 'citizens' and 'spectators' except in few instances where you injected citizens. Other than that, sticking to the phrase, 'my brothers and sisters' really radiated some sense of belongingness to the ordinary citizen; I mean the proper citizen that does not compete with a spectator to succumb to it.
However, if you used the word citizens more than ones, and chipped in 'spectators', please let your citizens mean citizens.
Your statement that "the youth represents the heart beat of Ghana's democracy", melted my 8-year frozen heart to majestically beat in a way I can dance with the rhythm it produces.
You know Ghana is now unfortunately gifted with a 58 million dollarish expensive hole in the world. Please do not beautify the hole with a swimming pool. Rather fill the hole with an erected ultramordern state of the art National Children/ Pediatric Hospital with underground parking lots, and one that will provide every specialty in medicine where even neighbouring countries may come to access services as health tourism.
Do not forget to add a landing platform on the roof of the structure for critical or emergency Ambulance Helicopter since traffic may be dense in the area. Please ensure the spare parts ordering of the Ambulances are not backed by many recently created companies the Hon Okudzeto Ablakwa is not in the know of.
We must save babies and children of Ghana and beyond easily and smoothly without Visa applications involved.
Please overhaul the Justce system with the two-third majority Ghanaians have given you. This must include accepting petitions either from a ghost or real concerned groups to peacefully remove some openly biased Justices. Remember there is a precedence by your immediate predecessor.
Use the same methodology to cleanse the electoral commission and bring back Madam Charlotte Osei to again restructure the over politicized and error-driven Electoral commision in the history of Ghana if possible, for Ms Charlotte Osei since her ousting, has achieved even more international credentials in electoral process.
Please Mr. President , just as you have been recalled by Ghanaians because of your experience, I was glad when I learnt you have recalled Ms Marrietta Brew who warn international cases for Ghana during her time as Attorney General on landmark cases to be your legal advisor. At least, for the first half of your reign, intentionally let her advise you on how to handle many of the financial loss to the State cases and state capture cases, as well as many Judgement Debt to knock at your door.
Marrietta Brew may help claim Ghana's Regina House in the UK back for Ghana with your Attorney General, for Nkrumah did not acquire that building for some frontiers to snatch it from Ghana easily like that.
Please encourage Parliament to establish a commission of inquiry with High Court powers to hear cases involving state captures and State sponsored crimes, including murder of journalists, members of parliament and innocent Ghanains. Victims and perpetrators must come and answer questions televised live to the nation.
Remember the commision of inquiry is the best way in my opinion since you cannot trust most of the Judges appointed by your predecessor.
Please and please, let the free SHS improvement be under the office of the vice president at the presidency, for your Vice president, and the first female vice president in Ghana has everything it takes as an accomplished educationist to refine and continue the free SHS.
If possible, please let the University of Ghana management you plan handing over the UGMC over to, to use the proceeds to pay for the free first year tertiary education fees.
Before I rest my pen, please BORROW MASSIVELY but responsibly to immediately put in place an aggressive completion of all Hospitals and viable projects and establish factories to provide JOBS EVERYWHERE for the unemployed Youth. Those interventions will pay back the borrowing themselves directly and indirectly like the Airport terminal 3 is doing.
For JOBS JOBS JOBS JOBS is what I will end with. The rest I believe you already know having been a vice president and president before.
I rest my PEN.
Yours truly.
