Will You Hold The Door Open For Her?
Indeed, Ghana has made history by electing its first female vice president. Yes! But wait a minute… She is not only a learned person but a Professor of learned persons.
Professor Jane Naana Opoku - Agyemang, Wo Tiri Nkwa!
We are honoured and blessed to have such a person -“an institution” who willingly accepts the call to serve us.
Prof Ayikooooo!
You have demonstrated to the Ghanaian woman particularly the girl child that women can also do it! Women across the globe are proud of you, we do not only celebrate you, but we also pray to God to grant you the needed Grace and wisdom to execute your mandate to the core and to the Glory of God.
Your career is a statement in itself- a statement boldly engraved, a confirmation of resilience, vision and dedication- truly an inspiring narrative worth emulating.
You have proven that with determination, hard work, honesty and faith in God everything is possible/achievable.
Even though, I do not subscribe to the general saying that “What men can do, women can do better”, I do agree that “What men can do women can do”.
Today, the female gender across Ghana is extremely proud of you, you have indeed set the standards for women in this country and beyond.
However, Madam Vice President respectfully, this is just a gentle reminder to not forget/abandon the promise you made a couple of years ago.
In your 2020 acceptance speech, you promised to hold the door open for others… and echo the voices and concerns of women and children irrespective of where they come from. You reiterated your belief and further stressed that we can always leverage our differences for a diverse and inclusive society thus, diversity is a strength and not a weakness nor a web intended to divide us.
As the first female Vice-Chancellor you championed the affairs of the girl child, and you continued to empower women and the girl child when you became the Minister of Education. In 2015 you championed the Inclusive Education policy, a policy committed to providing quality education for all children irrespective of the physical, intellectual, social or emotional conditions.
And now, here you are, the First Female Vice President of Mother Ghana.
You have established through dedication and deliberate acts of service that indeed, you stand for all women irrespective of where they come from, your priority on the girl child and the wellbeing of the less privileged is impeccable.
Your Excellency Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, please, DO HOLD THE DOOR OPEN as promised.

Congratulations!
