I Will Not Tolerate Galamsey on Wenchi Land-Wenchimanhene
The Omanhene of the Wenchi Traditional Area is deeply concerned about the ongoing illegal mining operations within his jurisdiction. This notice is a clear reminder that no company or individual has received permission from the Omanhene to exploit land for mining purposes.
Effective immediately by order of Omanhene, Osagyefo Ampem Anye Amoampong Tabrako III, all companies involved in illegal mining are ordered to vacate the premises without delay.
All operations must cease, and you are required to remove any machinery and equipment from the site by 6 PM today, January 5, 2025.
In addition, before leaving, you must adhere to the following crucial directives:
1. All excavated pits must be filled and covered completely to mitigate potential dangers.
2. Any land that has been destroyed must be restored to its original condition to preserve the integrity of the area.
Non-compliance with these instructions will lead to serious repercussions. The Omanhene urges everyone to respect the land and abide by the laws governing the Wenchi Traditional Area.
