Ghana vs the NPP: A Triumphant Mahama's 2nd Coup D'etat

Fellow Ghanaians, a hilarious joke goes that a thief once broke into a certain house and stole a motorbike. As he was accelerating the bike out, the owner was very smart and quickly exclaimed: "Hey loser! you didn't take the helmet and the papers of the motorbike". The stupid thief decided to come back for the helmet and the papers, and that was how he was caught!

Apparently, the conduct of the New Patriotic Party, NPP government after its historic massive lost to the National Democratic Congress, NDC, could be likened to that stupid thief in the above story.

From their attempt to snatch the mandate of certain constituencies after the election, their frantic and scramble for what is left of the country's resources to leaving behind gigantic debts owed to almost all workers of public institutions, there's no any description which perfectly describes the outgoing government than the thief who is being deceived back to take the helmet of a motorbike he stole.

This is because, the notion that the NPP actually doesn’t have the country at heart, has been manifested in their lack of patriotism. And their (mis)conduct after losing the elections purposely to cripple the incoming government before we can even say Jack, has lent credence to their disdain for the wellbeing of Ghanaians but for one objective: looting.

However, regardless, we as survivors of this criminal government certainly must elephantly and hippopotamusly give thanks to the Almighty God having defeated this Army of the Elephant, the NPP.

For eight years at the helm of our affairs, the NPP has literally attacked the country’s heart with the sharpest and most poisonous dagger with their most callous thieving and looting spree of the state.

Nonetheless, fellow Ghanaians, inasmuch as we are basking in excitement of relief, it is important not to forget what the 19th century's German greatest writer Johann Wolfgang von Goethe had said in his solitary moment and confinement: "None are hopelessly enslaved than those who falsely believe they are free."

Ghanaians cannot afford to falsely claim freedom from the NPP's misgovernance when they are hopelessly still being manacled and shackled by their political, economic and social captors with traces of mismanagement all abound.

That is, although in that "battle of the bastards" in the just ended election, Ghana actually won and the map of the country turned "green" from the "blue", we still have the most treacherous war to fight than the one in which we whisked and wrestled Ghana from its enemies.

Without doubt, the incoming government has the onerous task of having to first of all clean the economic mess before it proceeds to "resetting" state institutions that have been battered in the last eight years; retool the thinking of public servants and Ghanaians in general to understand why both the NDC and the NPP are never the same; convert the current failure to opportunities; marshall the country in the right direction; and to restore hope, prosperity and the lost national glory.

In a cursory glance, getting all the above done appears simpler. But it is literally turning a toilet into kitchen. And that is quite a herculean task for even a man who has been given more than 60 years to accomplish let alone one who has only a term of four years in office.

But for me, I believe in the assertion of the Dagomba people that, “if God breaks your leg, He teaches you how to walk”.

Mahama’s absolute majority in parliament which gives him the opportunity to amend certain sensitive and difficult Clauses of the 1992 Constitution, speaks volumes of Divine readiness to support him clean the mess which ordinarily can’t be achieved with just four years!

Politicized and godless clergymen who think it’s only four years for Mahama must think again. God has also given Mahama the ability to help not only clean the mess but extends his terms of office. And that is a gift of Allah, and the enemies and haters can burn the sea!

It is thus clearer, that winning the election is one thing, and governing is another.

Indeed, this was one challenge of colonialism and its concomitant misnomer of neocolonialism which our country's father and founder, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah described as worse than colonialism. The simplicity with which Nationalists movements against colonial authorities achieved victories in their fight for Independence, was far lesser than the nightmare of dealing with neocolonialism after Independence.

And indeed, neocolonialism as a “remnant” of colonialism became a heavier blow to the newly formed Independent states and governments than then dependent governments under the colonial rule prior to Independence (Kwame Nkrumah, 1965).

This, fellow citizens, appears to be the situation of our brand new victory. The Army of the Elephant has been though defeated but it has left a nightmarish "remnant" that threatens the new hope Ghana has been awarded in the aftermath of the 2024 general elections. Like the incoming president recently remarked, the outgoing government has set up traps to impede the incoming administration’s ability to even clean the mess talkless of resetting anything.

The truth is that the outgoing government led by Akufo Addo has actually shattered the country's over 60 years of growth since Independence when they took over office in 2017. And that is why I am particularly in love with the incoming president's campaign slogan of "Reset".

Resetting anything that has been incompetently handled requires a deeper knowledge of it and the needed vast experience to be able to reset it. Otherwise, we cannot afford to start all over again which is what we ought to have done anyway considering the economic and political damage and harm caused.

It should not be hyperbolic and deemed a political witch hunt those who are calling for charges against President Akufo Addo for causing financial loss to the state.

The challenge now in resetting the country for the incoming administration, is the despicable legacy of economic destruction and social decay at hand. The Akufo Addo's legacy of incredible failure.

The Army of the Elephant has though been defeated left its “remnants” and “relics of failure” in almost all government institutions that would in a jiffy torpedo the Reset agenda by the next government. These remnants, like neocolonialism, have become according to our Nation's founder Dr. Nkrumah, worse than the fraudulent NPP government itself.

And that can be eloquently expressed in the two colors representing the National Democratic Congress, NDC, and New Patriotic Party, NPP, the "green" and "blue" colors respectively.

It was noted that regions and Constituencies the NDC won were said to have turned "green", and those Constituencies the NPP won remained "blue". That is quite significant in the field of psychology of colors and in the spiritual realm.

In the United States, for example, states that are predominantly Democrats and vote for the Democratic party, are called Blue States, and those states that vote for the Republican party are called Red States. This is why the American map during an election is colored with Blue and Red indicating the states that are either Republicans or the Democrats. Depending upon who won an American election, one of these two colors will domain the American map, either red or blue.

In the most recent USA elections which former President Trump won, more than half of the map was red in color indicating the victory of the Republican party.

In Ghana, the NDC having won thirteen out of the sixteen regions of Ghana, the country's map became green with the exception of the Ashanti, Eastern, and the North East Regions.

Whether both the NDC and the NPP are aware of the significance of colors or not and what each color symbolizes, the universe is constructed based on mathematics and principles. This is what Max Tegmark referred to as MUH (Mathematical Universe Hypothesis) or the TOE (Theory of Everything) which has led to quantum theories that have brought about quantum computing. In short, everything has a purpose and so do colors have meanings psychologically and spiritually.

According to the Noble Qur'an, the religious text of the Muslims, the cushion and certain adornments of dwellers of paradise, shall be green in color. Qur'an 18:31 and 55:76

The Qur'an also using greenery as a source of life and revival, and emphasis has always been placed on the color "green". For example, in Qur'an 36:80, God says: "He it is Who made for you from the green tree, fire, and then from it you ignite."

Again, in Qur'an 76:21 God mentions green saying: "Upon the inhabitants (of paradise) will be green garments of fine silk and brocade. And they will be adorned with bracelets of silver, and their Lord will give them a purifying drink."

From the perspective of the Qur'an in the above verses, the color "green" has a symbolism of hope, revival, serenity, and a paradiasical element kept in it. This is the psychology behind most hospital beds having green mattresses or covers. Green is healing. And green is found predominantly in crops, grass, flowers, and trees. If we get oxygen from trees and it helps in absorbing carbon dioxide released from us, this means live. And indeed, we breath in order not to die.

The victory of the NDC, therefore, when Ghana has been greened, symbolizes live, relief, hope, revival, growth, and ultimately, paradise on earth - "The Ghana We Want Together" - another slogan of the incoming president.

Color blue on the other hand symbolizes spirituality which symbolizes comfort. Predominantly, blue color is found in the sky and in the sea. A man cruising 40 thousand feet in an airplane and taking shower certainly enjoys comfort. Similarly, a man in a yacht in the sea is in the pinnacle of luxury. But let the man cruising at the altitude of 40 thousand feet in a private jet is thrown out of the airplane with a damaged parachute and the comfort is transfigured into a disaster of suffering and death.

The same goes for the man who is at the deep sea without a yacht but in a gaping hole boat. The luxury becomes “cocastic” and bitter!

In both scenarios, the luxury the blue sea can give the man in the yacht, and the comfort and joy the man taking a shower in an airplane cruising 40 thousand feet above sea level can enjoy, would both turn into a nightmare in the case of the second scenarios.

Thus, although the "blue" is comforting but when wrongly approached as in the case of the man with a hole in the boat and the man thrown out of airplane cruising 40 thousand feet, both sea and the sky become a death sentence.

And this is exactly the case of the NPP which is represented by the color blue in the just ended election. The unprecedented economic mismanagement and massive corruption were the twin evils of the falling man from the blue sky and the hole-boated man in the deep blue sea. Then, God rescued the country by “greening” it with hope of born-again.

However, the biggest obstacle now is to protect this "greened Ghana" from the "remnants" of the Army of the Elephant that has become either a wandering elephant or a swamp of locus ready to feed on the now "greened Ghana" which is certainly our cash cow and cash crops!

These “remnants” in reality are the politicized government institutions that have become the personal fiefdoms of the outgoing government and the president in particular.

There should be no mercy for the cripple! All heads of government institutions and their carelessly party-jersey-wearing deputies must be dismissed with immediate effect. Especially those who were appointed by the outgoing government.

From the security services, GES, EC, Judiciary, BoG, ECG in particular, etcetera. there must be a general cleaning of dismissals of appointees that have remained useful and lethal idiots for the Akufo Addo-led administration.

The other remnant of the government that is suicidal to this national victory in realizing and achieving the Ghana we want together, is the legacy of president Akufo Addo the Africa Watch Magazine described as "Legacy of Failure". Among them is the gigantic debts the government is owing to institutions' staff workers due to partially unfulfilled promises such as the government inability to pay the funds for Free SHS to WAEC.

The government has been owing the allowances for the Nursing and Teacher trainees it promised to pay as well as NABCO. All this are unfortunate remnants of the defeated Army of the Elephant which if not delicately managed would rob the country of the paradise (greened Ghana) God has blessed us with.

Perhaps, the worst "remnant" is the deliberate attempt by the outgoing government to try to sort of lock down the governance of the country in order to cause the next government to fail in advance. And this is partly manifested in the outgoing government's wicked appointment spree of new heads of certain institutions.

As a once "military junta" in his memoir: "My First Coup D'etat", this resounding victory is certainly president Mahama's "My Second Coup D'etat" where he is expected as a “supreme leader” with absolute majority in the House of Parliament, to safeguard the symbolic “greenery” and the revived country from the "remnants" of our country's political pirates.

We wish him and his team the very best and protection by God from his political gladiators and nemesis.

And let me conclude by paraphrasing Qur’an 15:9 when Allah says that He has sent down the Qur’an and He will certainly be its Guardian.

It is God who has granted Mahama this supreme victory, and it is God, not any Akyim Mafia, that will surely guard, guide, help, and save it from the enemies.

Happy New Year In Advance To All
