Election 2024: We've provided rice, oil, maggi, salt, others to NDC workers on election day to cook, eat and stay focused — Ernest Agbesi

Former Managing Director of GCB Bank, Ernest Agbesi

Former Managing Director of GCB Bank, Ernest Agbesi, has revealed a strategic plan by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to support its election day workers across the Eastern Corridor constituencies.

Agbesi, who has been actively working to secure victory for the NDC in the December 7 general elections, announced the provision of food items and financial resources to the party's 10 constituencies in the area.

This initiative aims to ensure that polling agents and other election day workers are adequately catered for without worrying about meals or refreshments.

Speaking during a ceremony to hand over the supplies, Ernest Agbesi emphasized the importance of keeping election workers comfortable to focus on their duties.

“These things are for D-Day operations. They will be used to cook for polling agents. These items include oil, rice, tomatoes, among others.

“So, the women’s wings will be responsible for these because we do not want the PCs [parliamentary candidates] to waste time distributing these items themselves,” Agbesi explained.

He added, “There is also Maggi and salt for the women organisers to go into the communities to share for the constituents. So, with that, we are believing that with God on our side, all the PCs here will be in Parliament and John Mahama will be the president.”

This effort follows months of presentations by Ernest Agbesi and his team, all geared toward ensuring NDC victories in both the presidential and parliamentary elections.

The targeted constituencies include Zabzugu, Chereponi, Gushegu, Bimbilla, Wulensi, Karaga, Yendi, Tatale, and Mion/Sang—areas considered orphan constituencies for the NDC as they are currently held by New Patriotic Party (NPP) MPs.
