With enabling economic environment, 24-hour economy, digitalization will naturally occur — Franklin Cudjoe
The Founding President of IMANI Africa, Franklin Cudjoe, has emphasized that digitalization and a 24-hour economy in Ghana are attainable aspirations but will only naturally materialize under an enabling economic environment.
In a Facebook post on Saturday, November 23, Mr. Cudjoe argued that while Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s digitalization agenda holds promise, it must be underpinned by sound economic policies.
“In fact, the truth is that the digitalisation drive is similar to the NDC’s 24-hour economy mantra. They are both aspirational and that, given the right enabling economic environment, they will naturally occur,” he stated.
Mr. Cudjoe stressed the importance of prioritizing measures to stabilize the economy.
The policy advisor lamented the challenges of escalating exchange rates, high inflation, and excessive taxes that continue to strain Ghanaians.
“Which is why l keep calling on you, my dear Veep, to deal at least in part with the economic plunder and invasive poor governance that we have experienced under your administration,” he added.
His comments come as Dr. Bawumia intensifies his campaign as the New Patriotic Party’s flagbearer for the 2024 general elections, with a focus on his digitalization drive as a key pillar for Ghana’s development.
