Gomoa Central: Nananom will not tolerate any political violence in election 2024 — Nana Kwaata II cautions

Chief of Gomoa Brofoyedur in the Gomoa Central District has cautioned the youth and the entire residents in his community against any act of political violence.

He said Nananom would not tolerate such conduct before, during and after December 7 General Elections.

"Let me say it here and now that anybody or group of people who misbehave against the laws of Ghana governing elections would be left alone to face the law.

"We (Nananom) will continue to warn you, especially the youth of Gomoa Brofoyedur that if the law catches up with any of them, nobody will be available to defend them wherever they might find themselves at that crucial moment," he stated,

Addressing the launch of the Annual Akwambo festival of the Chiefs and people of Gomoa Brofoyedur last Sunday, Nana Esoun Abonyi Kwaata II rather called on the youth to use their time and strength to support human and infrastructure development to improve the lives of their families.

He urged the youth to support the community in its quest to complete all self-help projects being undertaking to complement government's effort.

"We cannot fold up our hands waiting for the District Assembly or the Central Government to provide our needs. We ought to work together in unison to provide what is best for us as a community. Let's put all hands on deck to complete our ongoing projects early to serve their purposes," he added.

He announced that the community was undertaking the construction of a Community Center to be used as durbar grounds and other social events.

According to Nana Esoun Abonyi Kwaata II, the Community Center when completed would also have ICT center, Library recreation center for children and aged adding that it would improve academic standards in the area.

He further noted that through individual financial contributions and fundraising a 22-seater public toilet facility was under construction and would soon be completed to support the existing ones in the community.

"I want to call on Gomoa Brofoyedur citizens both home and abroad to come home and support these projects which should be completed before our Akwambo festival scheduled for early next year," he stressed.

The Queen Mother of Gomoa Brofoyedur, Nana Ama Amposah I lauded President Akufo Addo's led NPP Government for Free SHS policy saying it had reduced teenage pregnancy in the area.

She observed almost all the BECE graduates were in school and therefore had no time to roam around town leading to teenage pregnancies.

Nana Ama Amponsah I however advised parents whose wards were in school to provide them with the needed basic items to enable them to concentrate on their studies while at school.

"Apart from Girls attending SHS, parents should also have keen interest in their Girl-Child who are in our Basic School. They should be thoroughly monitored to avoid acts that would end their future career," Nana Ama Amponsah I stressed.
