I won't buy properties abroad while my people suffer; don't call Bono chiefs violent again — Dormaahene blasts Otumfuo
The Dormaahene, Osagyefo Dr. Agyemang Badu II has launched a scathing attack on the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II for his alleged derogatory remarks about Bono chiefs.
Pained by the alleged hurtful comments, he said he will never become a king who will neglect his people for a luxurious lifeclass.
Addressing his people, the Dormaahene emphasized that even though he has the means, he would never fly in private jets or buy properties abroad while his people continue to suffer harsh conditions inflicted by careless politicians.
“I will never hire private jets or use my money to buy properties abroad while my people are suffering. I will never do such a thing," he declared.
The Dormaahene also took issue with Otumfuo's recent comments labeling Bono chiefs as violent, describing it as inappropriate and divisive.
He stressed that a leader of Otumfuo's stature should refrain from making statements that could undermine or hurt other traditional leaders.
“If you say someone is engaged in violence, haven't you insulted the person? We are telling him that the statement he made about the Bono chiefs being violent, he should never repeat it again.
“For someone of his prominence, he shouldn’t have attributed Bono chiefs and the Techimanhene to violence at all,” he cautioned.
