NPP sees election as a process, committed to a free and fair one on December 7 — NAPO
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) remains committed to ensuring free, fair and transparent general elections on December 7, says the party's Vice Presidential Candidate Dr. Matthew Opoku-Prempeh, affectionately known as NAPO.
In a statement issued via his social media platform on Friday, August 2, after touring voter registration centres at the University of Ghana, UPSA and GIMPA, NAPO reiterated the NPP's view of elections as a process rather than a single event.
He commended Ghanaian youth for braving the rains to register to vote in the upcoming elections.
"It was encouraging to see young men and women defy the rains to get their names onto the electoral register to be able exercise their franchise in December," said NAPO.
The Manhyia South lawmaker stressed that the ruling party has "always viewed elections as a process and not an event."
He affirmed the party's commitment "to every step towards a free, fair and transparent elections in December."
The Electoral Commission on Thursday, August 1, began the mop-up registration exercise to allow people who missed out on the limited voter registration exercise.
