North Tongu MP Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has alleged that two daughters of President Akufo-Addo—Gyankroma and Edwina Akufo-Addo are once again connected to the overpricing of ambulances procured by the government.

In a social media post on Tuesday, July 30, Mr Ablakwa disclosed that his extensive parliamentary oversight has revealed that the same "cabal" behind the $34.9 million ambulance spare parts scandal, inflated the cost of 307 ambulances by $29.7 million.

The outspoken MP claims the unit cost of each ambulance was $80,000, but 307 vehicles were procured at a total cost of $54.3 million.

He cited the Auditor-General's report, stating that "At $80,000 for one ambulance, the 307 ambulances should give us a total of GHS24,560,000 and not $54.3 million."

In the earlier spare parts scandal, Mr Ablakwa revealed close relationships between the two daughters of President Akufo-Addo and Stephen Okoro, the director of Service Ghana Auto Group Limited, through audit documents.

The company had received what he described a “sweetheart” ambulance spare parts contract worth $34.9 million when same amount can buy new vehicles.

This time, he alleges procurement contracts were granted to the same "cabal" through different companies.
