Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the 2024 running mate of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), has urged Members of Parliament (MPs) of the party to close ranks and unite ahead of the upcoming general elections.

Affectionately called Napo, the Manhyia South MP made the call during a meeting with the NPP parliamentary caucus on Tuesday, July 16.

In statement posted on social media after the engagement, Napo said "it was truly fruitful to connect with my esteemed colleagues to rally support for our vision of building a better Ghana."

He added: "I urged all MPs to come together, close our ranks, and unite in a shared commitment towards securing victory for our party."

The 2024 running mate stressed that unity in the NPP caucus is crucial as the party gears up to retain power.

“Together, we can pave the way for the innovative solutions and bold strategies of our Presidential candidate, Dr. Bawumia to uplift Ghana to new heights," Napo stated.

Since formally announced as the NPP’s running mate in a ceremony held at the Jubilee Park in Kumasi last Tuesday, the former Energy Minister has been on a tour, engaging traditional and opinion leaders about his party’s vision for a third term.
