Ghana Hajj Board records less fatalities in Mecca
The final batch of Ghanaian pilgrims has arrived home, bringing Hajj 2024 to closure.
According to the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Ummrah, about 1.83 million pilgrims performed this year's Hajj. Over 4,000 Ghanaian pilgrims participated in this year's Hajj, according to the Pilgrims Affairs Office of Ghana.
More than 1,301 fatalities have been recorded in this year's Hajj, according to an official Saudi Ministry of Health report. Amidst these worrying death reports, the Ghana Hajj Board recorded only about four (4) deaths, among which were the elderly with underlying health conditions. About two (2) deliveries were also recorded.
The Ghana Hajj Board has been able to achieve this remarkable milestone as a result of the pragmatic measures put in place by the affable Medical Director of the Ghana Hajj Board, Dr. Seidu Zakaria.
Dr. Zakaria Seidu has demonstrated an enviable track record worth commendable by all. He has proven beyond every reasonable doubt that he has what it takes to deliver on the job. Dr. Seidu has given his all to safeguarding the health of Ghanaian pilgrims.
Clinics were doted across the various Ghanaian hostels as well as Mina and Arafat, where pilgrims were provided with 24-hour health services. Dr. Seidu Zakaria and his team of medical staff must be commended for the fewer fatalities recorded by the Ghana Hajj Board. His continuous stay on the job will mean Ghanaian pilgrims will have a much safer Hajj, knowing that their health is guaranteed.
We thank Almighty Allah for a successful Hajj; Hajj Mabroor to all our Ghanaian Hujjaj.
