Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang is causing serious mental disorientation in the NPP
The unwarranted attack on the person of Prof. Dr. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang yesterday by the Majority Leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin in the concluding debate of the uninspiring 2024 State of the Nation Address (SONA) delivered to Parliament this month by Akufo-Addo is a testament of NPP’s mental disorientation caused by the just-announced Running Mate of the NDC Party.
The serious agitation by the Minority in Parliament is justified to register their abhorrence and demand an apology from the Majority Leader for his unguarded submission on the floor of Parliament.
It beats common logic to hear Afenyo-Markin of the NPP talking about Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang in a SONA debate which has no bearing whatsoever on the content of the SONA itself.
It is horrifying for Mr. Afenyo-Markin to use advanced age as a basis to openly attack Prof. Dr. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, a woman of substance who has distinguished herself by dint of hard work, dedication, discipline, and foresight in her working life.
The achievements of Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang in terms of academic and professional spheres are unparallel to even what men including Afenyo Markin himself have done so far.
Prof. Dr. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang has broken the ceiling by the numerous inter(national) awards she received, being the first female Vice Chancellor of the UCC and being an exemplary politician who proved her worth as the Education Minister during the tenure of former President Mahama.
Apart from her academic and professional achievements, Prof. Dr. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang is a woman of distinction, empathy with motherly finesse and above all, embodiment of wisdom and integrity and a role model to many young women and men in the country.
The retention of Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang as the Running Mate by President Mahama for the upcoming 2024 general elections is obviously causing serious mental disorientation in the NPP as we speak.
This may be partly attributable to the NPP’s lack of foresight and candidness to get a credible Running Mate to partner their most discredited Flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for the upcoming 2024 general elections. Even if the NPP also imitates the NDC by endorsing a female Running Mate to partner Dr. Bawumia in the upcoming general elections, it will still not work for them!
The below-belt attack on the person of the Running Mate of the NDC, Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang by the Majority Leader. Afenyo-Markin shows that the NPP Party has a serious difficulty in getting a person with sterling personality like the Prof. Opoku-Agyemang.
As salt does not praise itself, Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang will continue to add value to the body politic of Ghana and well-meaning Ghanaians will be the better judges come December 7, 2024.
Prof. Dr. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang is highly likely to make history again by becoming the first Vice President of Ghana at the time when the current regime led by Akufo-Addo and Dr. Bawumia has messed up Ghana's economy and created general hardships in the country.
The Presidential ticket of Mahama-Jane for the 2024 general elections is the surest bet for Ghana to be better again with honest, visionary and trusted leadership.
