The ruling elites are the bane of our underdevelopment
We must not allow people who promised heaven on earth to the citizens whenever they want power, and after achieving that power they subjected the citizens to experience hell on earth.
It is unconscionable for the citizens to sit aloof and allow the ruling elites to impose hardship by the imposition of draconian taxes, increased utility tariffs and constant adjusting in fuel prices at every least opportunity.
So far what we have seen from the ruling elites confirmed Mrs Ursula Owusu Ekuful's assertion that his eighteen-year-old can run the government if its governance entails borrowing.
Sadly, the people that labeled former president John Mahama and the NDC administration as incompetent and corrupt are exhibiting the worst form of incompetence and gargantuan corrupt practices.
It's highly ridiculous, that someone who was at the center of the fight against the introduction of Value Added Tax (VAT) can confidently rob the citizenry with all kinds of gimmicks of imposing taxes that appear to forcefully take monies out of the pockets of the distressed citizens.
The deceptive conduct of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government is unimaginable, how can a government keep on deceiving and lying to the citizens? They deceive the people by cancelling Vehicle Income Tax. (VIT) and Tolls collection in anticipation of imposing E - levy. Even though it was forcefully pushed down our throats and we are reluctantly grappling with it, why should the same government want to reintroduce those levies again?
It is an act of callouses for any government to reintroduce taxes that were earlier labeled as nuisance to its citizens. Does this current government have any human feelings? their actions don't appear so.
It is highly unacceptable to maintain the E levy and expect us to pay Tolls, VIT and in addition to the regressive emissions taxes whenever we are renewing our roadworthy licenses and car insurance.
A finance minister claimed we are proud people and we not going to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) is now begging the fund management to release a meagre six hundred million dollars and based on that meagre amount he has succumbed to the dictates of the IMF by sentencing the citizenry into hell.
This is pure robbery and we must resist it at all cost. When pressure was mounted on this government to repeal the luxury tax they quickly adhered to the threats. Why are they so recalcitrant for not listening to the mass of the people? Is it because their target is to impoverish the mass of the people and have them perpetually subjugated.?
