OccupyBoG Protest: Minority reschedules march to BoG Head Office to September 12; sticks to routes
The Minority in Parliament has issued a press release to assure Ghanaians that its planned protest to the Head Office of the Bank of Ghana will come off no matter what.
However, the Minority has announced that the protest which was scheduled to happen on Tuesday, September 5, has been rescheduled for Tuesday, September 12.
In addition, the Minority has stressed that the routes that have been the basis of court action instigated by the Police remain the same.
“The protest march planned by the leadership of the Minority in Parliament and other Civil Society Organizations to the Head Office of the Bank of Ghana originally scheduled for Tuesday, 5th of September, 2023 has been rescheduled to Tuesday, 12th September, 2023.
“The route remains the same,” parts of the Minority’s press release said on Monday, September 4.
On September 12, the Minority will begin its protest from the frontage of Parliament House - Osu Cemetery Traffic Light - Ministry of Finance - High Court Complex - Kinbu - Makola - Rawlings Park - Opera Square - Bank of Ghana.
The protest is to call for the resignation of BoG Governor Ernest Addison and his two deputies as a result of their gross mismanagement of the Central Bank which has occasioned an unprecedented loss of GHS60.8 billion and a negative equity of GHS55.1 billion; illegal printing of over GHS80 billion, among others.
