Tax on bet winnings. If only the moneys will be put to good use, wisely.
The issue with taxation is not or should not be about what to be taxed or what ought not to be taxed. This akufo Addo Bawumia government needs all the money they can get to run Ghana Plc. The problem is how much money is to be entrusted to this government.
With billions of cedis/dollars not being accounted for and more billions being written off. What about the wastage in the public finances being supervised by this government led by Akufo Addo? How on earth must we Ghanaians allow this government to take more money from us. It is all there to see and to know that just as it was with the pre-revolutionary eras in France, the 1st. Estate and 2nd. Estate, have amassed so much wealth at the expense of the general populace.
These greedy few in society have looted everything, and we, the ordinary souls, are being cajoled along to pay for the consequences of their looting. This government has for these past years leveraged every money available to be had and more and yet not much to show for.
The question is not whether to tax little Ghanaian babies for daring to grow teeth. After all, any future government will need revenue from taxes to operate. The main question is, what are all these cutthroat taxes for, especially when we know that some few people have a stash of raw cash either under their beds or saved somewhere in the Caribbeans. This government does not deserve more of our moneys, they deserve to be booted out, anyhow.
