ASKY Airlines to start flights to two European destinations
Lomé-based Asky Airlines' expansion drive will see it launch flights to two major European destinations next year.
After a successful launch of flights to Angola's capital Luanda on August 2 and a planned launch of flights to Kenya's capital Nairobi on October 1, 2023, Asky is hoping to connect Africa to these two EU states.
The start of planned flights to Paris next year will see Asky, which has a strong presence in Francophone Africa, connect the continent to the French Capital.
Additionally, Asky plans to connect its African destinations to the Spanish capital Madrid next year. Renowned for its leisure tourism and sports (football), the Spanish capital is the favourite of many tourists and is just under five (5) hours by air from Lomé, Togo.
Mr. Esayas Woldemariam Hailu, CEO of Asky Airlines, confirmed the planned European flights to AviationGhana.com . “Asky is in an expansion mode. So the upper year [ 2024] our plan is to go to Europe- Paris, and Madrid. So, not only widening our route network but also deepening it.”
ASKY, The Pan-African Airline, is a 100% privately owned airline created by regional banking institutions in Africa that includes The ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development (EBID), The West African Development Bank (BOAD) and ECOBANK Group (ETI) in partnership with Ethiopian Airlines.
ASKY is a commercial company under private law and is managed by experienced African aviation professionals, with Ethiopian Airlines as its strategic partner.
Asky already has a strong foothold in West and Central Africa and also offers flights to Republic of South Africa, its southern-most destination. It also services N'Djamena in Chad, its northern most destination and is all set to launch flights to Nairobi, Kenya in East Africa on October 1, 2023.
