Gomoa West NPP Women's Organizer pick forms to contest party's Parliamentary primaries to recapture seat from NDC

Gomoa West Constituency Women's Organizer of the NPP, Madam Hikimatu Yahaya Iddi last Thursday picked forms at the party's office at Gomoa Ankamu to contest the party's parliamentary primaries with the hope of recapturing the seat from the opposition NDC.

According to Madam Hikimatu Yahaya Iddi, she would be the best candidate to snatch back what she described as the 'borrowed' seat from the NDC in next year's general elections indicating that Hikimatu Yahaya Iddi is a household name in all the communities in the constituency due to her capability and cordial relationship with the people.

"I decided to contest the parliamentary primaries due to the massive support am enjoying from my constituents. I have been in constant touch with the grassroot since I was elected as Constituency Women's Organizer. I have never failed in any way. I discharge my duties wholeheartedly.

"The massive support I'm receiving encouraged me to move on to another level where I can serve them better. They have seen my brilliant performance as a Women's Organizer and I'm poised to win the primaries and subsequently win the general elections as well. Gomoa West need a woman as their Member of Parliament to champion their course.

"Hikimatu Yahaya Iddi has offered herself to rescue women and children in this part of the world. What I need is unity and prayer to achieve our goal of recapturing the Parliamentary seat. Am going to fight for the right of women and to encourage them that they can also take up the mantle of leadership in any given position. Am going to give them hope and wili not disappoint the in any way because of the confidence imposed in me," she stated.

The Constituency Women's Organizer assured that she and her team would carry out a clean campaign devoid of insults and personal attacks noting that the forthcoming parliamentary primaries would be a test case for the NPP in its quest to recapture the seat and break the eight.

"We must work with one accord knowing that we must be stronger in unity to enable us win the General elections convincingly," she stated.

A Polling Station Youth Organizer from Gomoa Eshiem, Mr. Isaac Arthur was hopeful that a woman can easily win the general elections if given the nod at the primaries to represent the party.

Similar messages from Market Women Association, Association of Garages and the various transport unions affirmed their confidence in the Women's Organizer to be the parliamentary candidate for the NPP to enable the party win both the presidential and parliamentary elections scheduled in 2024.

According to them, she had performed creditably as Women's Organizer and there were high hopes that she would rescue the constituency from its present predicament.

A 5-Member Electoral Committee chaired by Madam Bruce Acquah and four others including the Constituency Chairman of the NPP, Mr. George Alexander Sarfo have been set up to conduct the forthcoming parliamentary primaries in the Gomoa West Constituency.
