Where Are Muammar Gaddafi's Female Bodyguards?

On October 20, 2011, footage of a bloody man being lynched by an irate mob went viral throughout the world. Later, two bloated corpses were found next to each other, they were Muammar Gaddafi, the Libyan leader, and his son Al-Mu'tasim-Billah al-Gaddafi. After Hillary Clinton, who was then Secretary of State, lies and fabrications about the Libyan leader's demise were exposed, it's time to find out why Gaddafi used female bodyguards and where the women are now.

Around the world, more and more female politicians are assuming positions of authority. Women work in the military, in government, and other professions, however, bodyguards are not a very common vocation for them. However, the situation in Libya was stunning, and Muammar Gaddafi's eccentricities astounded the entire globe. Bodyguards known as Amazons or even nuns of the revolution encircle the colonel, the head of the Libyan Revolution.

The late Libyan leader, Muammar Gaddafi, surrounded by some of his female security guards

To entrust such a critical responsibility as defending the highest official in all of Libya to women is something many heads of state won’t. Gaddafi's armed female escorts were sometimes referred to as ‘Green Nuns,’ which alludes to his green revolution and the nickname ‘nuns,’ relates to the fact that female bodyguards were barred from having families or engaging in any sexual activity while on duty. How did Gaddafi decide to use women as a kind of protection?

Karl Hans, a career official of the Stasi, the Ministry of State Security of the GDR, suggested that should he create a detachment of female bodyguards when he was asked to reorganize his security in the early 1980s of the 20th century. His justifications for establishing such a prestigious and distinctive entity were persuasive. A female bodyguard might either become her client's shadow or, on the other hand, become a distracting factor by highlighting her sexiness.

Gaddafi stressed that his girls stood for the emancipation of women, saying, "Women should be taught to fight so that they do not become easy prey for enemies."According to other stories, the Jamahiriya leader ordered that the females stay virgins and that they all swore an oath promising to sacrifice their lives for Gaddafi. They were also tasked with becoming his constant companions day and night. His female security team had received extensive training in martial arts and shooting.

The truth is that the US administration continues to consider the Libyan leader the biggest threat. Gaddafi was called a monster and accused of supporting and sponsoring terrorism. The question is do we have to believe the US government when it accuses Gaddafi of being a terrorist, when the same government, NATO forces, and its allies accused Saddam Hussein of possessing Weapons of Mass Destruction, yet nothing was discovered when the Iraqi leader was caught and killed?

Fortunately or unfortunately, Hillary Clinton's e-mail revelation verified what everyone had already thought. Not for humanitarian reasons, but rather for oil and money, and more significantly since his main proposal involved an African currency backed by gold, Qaddafi was assassinated. However, before he died in Tripoli, Muammar Gaddafi poured out these heartfelt remarks that I like to refer to as "The Lamentations of Gaddafi."

For 40 years, or perhaps more, I have done all I can to give people homes, hospitals, and schools and when they were hungry, I gave them food. I transformed Benghazi from a desert into fertile land, I resisted the attacks of the cowboy Reagan when trying to kill me, and he killed an orphan, my adopted daughter, a poor innocent child.

I have helped my African brothers and sisters with money for the African Union. I have done everything to help the people understand the concept of true democracy, in which the popular committees govern our country. For some, this was never enough, people who had 10-room houses, rich clothing, and furniture. Selfish as they are, they asked for more at the expense of others, they were always dissatisfied and told the Americans and other visitors that they wanted democracy and freedom.

They did not want to realize that it is a cutthroat system, where the biggest dog devours everything. They were enchanted by these words, not realizing that in the USA there were no free medicines, free hospitals, free houses, free education, and guaranteed food. For them, nothing I did was enough, but for the others, I was the son of Gamal Abdel Nasser, the only true Arab and Muslim leader we had since Saladin, a man who returned the Suez Canal to his people as I have Libya claimed for my people.

It was his footsteps that I tried to follow, to keep my people free from colonial rule, from the raiders who would like to rob us. Now I am under attack from the greatest military force in history. My little African son, Obama, wants to kill me, take away our country's freedom, our free homes, our free medicine, our free education, our safe food, and replace it with the US-class thief called capitalism. But we all in the Third World know what that means. It means that businesses govern countries, and the world, and that people suffer.

So there is no alternative for me, I have to resist and, if Allah wills, I will die following the way, the way that has enriched our country with fertile fields, food, health and has even allowed us to help our African and Arab brothers to work here with us in Libyan Jamahiriya. I don't want to die, but if I had to get there, to save this land, my people, the thousands of my children, then it may be.

Let this testament be my voice to the world, say that I opposed the attacks of the NATO crusaders, cruelty, betrayal, the West and its colonialist ambitions, that I resisted together with my African brothers, my real Arab and Muslim brothers. I tried to shed some light when buildings were being built elsewhere; I lived in a modest house and tent. I have never forgotten my youth in Sirte, I have not wasted our national wealth and like Saladin, our great Muslim leader who saved Jerusalem for Islam, I took little for myself.

In the West, someone called me crazy and insane. They know the truth, but continue to lie. They know that our land is independent and free, not subject to colonialism. They know that my vision and my path have always been honest and in the interest of my people. They know that I will fight to the last breath to keep us free. God help us.

Gaddafi was captured and brutally killed six months after he poured out his sorrow, and since then Libya has never again been the same as it was during the rule of its former leader. The man who was described as a megalomaniac and bloodthirsty dictator, whose relatives were enriched by diverting the country's oil wealth to the detriment of the Libyan people, rather provided the best benefits to the Libyan people which never exist in the United States of America.

The benefits of the Libyans during the rule of Gaddafi

1. During Gaddafi's rule, there was no energy bill in Libya because it was provided free of charge to all residents.

2. All loans were provided to Libyan people at 0% interest by law, and banks in the country were state-owned.

3. In Libya, a home is seen as a fundamental human right. Gaddafi pledged that his parents would not receive a home until every Libyan had one. During Gaddafi's rule, his father passed away while he, his wife, and his mother were still residing in a tent.

4. The Libyan government gave all newlyweds 60,000 Dinar ($50,000) to help them start their first home and start family.

5. Free healthcare and education were available in Libya. Only 25% of Libyans were literate before Gaddafi. It was 83% throughout his rule.

6. Free agricultural land, a farm home, farming equipment, seeds, and cattle were given to Libyans who wanted to pursue a career in agriculture.

7. The government used funds to send Libyans abroad for education and medical care if they couldn't get it there for free; in addition, they received US $2,300/month for housing and a car allowance.

8. In Libya under Gaddafi, the government subsidized 50% of the cost of a car purchased by a Libyan.

9. In Gaddafi's time, the cost of gasoline in Libya is $0.14 per liter.

10. Libya had $150 billion in reserves that were at one time unfrozen and had no external debt.

11. If a Libyan graduate was unable to find work after graduating, the state would pay the going rate for that profession until a job was found.

12. All Libyan nationals' bank accounts were directly credited with a percentage of the proceeds from the sale of Libyan oil.

13. A mother received $5,000 after having a child.
14. During Gaddafi's rule, 40 loaves of bread in Libya cost $0.15.

15. To increase access to water, Gaddafi implemented the Great Man-Made River Project, the largest irrigation project in the world.

16. The Libyan government established the most cheapest and affordable airline, Afriqiyah, which carried many people around the world.

People should understand why I have never liked the US government in my entire life. If the US government will accuse Gaddafi of enriching relatives and diverting the nation's oil wealth away from the Libyan people despite what Gaddafi did for them, Hillary Clinton and Obama are liars. Gaddafi and his female security force died while fiercely defending their commander. Following his passing, pictures, and videos of his guards being killed by opposition fire started to circulate online.
