Chronicle Newspaper apologises to Dr Bannor as Tennessee Court of Appeal quashes earlier decision

The Tennessee Court of Appeals in the US has set aside an earlier circuit court ruling that gave majority of marital properties to Dora Bannor, wife of Dr Phillip Bannor in their divorce proceedings filed by the ex-wife of the Hefra Boss.

In a judgement delivered on 25th April, 2023 the Court of Appeal of Tennessee at Knoxville set aside the marital property and alimony awarded earlier by circuit court Judge Jeffrey Hollingsworth.

Background
The Ghanaian Internal medicine specialist, Dr Phillip Barnnor lost majority of his marital estate to his estranged wife, Dora Bannor in an earlier ruling which granted their divorce.

Granting the divorce against Dr Bannor, the trial court presided over by Jeffrey Hollingsworth on January 21st 2022 based its verdict on “inappropriate conduct” of Dr Bannor. The trial court therefore ordered that all marital property of the couple in the US be awarded to Dora Bannor, adding that all marital liabilities are the responsibility of Dr Phillip Bannor.

Their entire vanguard account valued at $185,000 as of January 2019 was also awarded to Dora Bannor by the trial court.

On appeal however by Dr Phillip Bannor, the awards in the ruling including the Alimony and estate valued at $915,000 among other awards given to Dora Bannor have been set aside by the Court of Appeals, remitting the case back to the trial court in Hamilton County, Tennessee in the US.

The Chronicle newspaper which earlier published an “indictment” charge against Dr Phillip Bannor has however apologised.
