NPP 2024: Setting The Record Straight On The Issue Of Sacrifice For Posterity -Part 3

Bawumia Must Be Grateful to Alan:
For Alan in particular, he was not assured nor promised any position in the party before helping to form it, campaigning and working for it. He joined NPP to work selflessly for anyone to become a leader or get a position.

Albeit his role in the party’s victory in 2000 was outstanding, he initially didn’t want to take appointment in Kufuor’s government until he was persuaded to take up a position as an Ambassador to the USA. What a selfless leader!

Mr. Alan Kyerematen worked so hard for NPP to win power so Dr. Bawumia, who did nothing nor believed in NPP, could be given appointment as the Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana on a silver platter through the influence of his best friend Prof. Ken Attefuah, the man who said it was the President who asked him not to employ party people at his office, NIA. Should I increase the volume?

Moreover, Alan, after spending money, time, and efforts in campaigning to become the flag-bearer in 2008, decided to sacrifice his personal ambition and that of his supporters for the unity of our party by voluntarily stepping down for Nana Akufo-Addo to automatically become our presidential candidate and Bawumia to become a beneficiary Vice of his sacrifice. After this, does Alan Kyerematen deserve to be disrespected by someone like Gideon Boako, Bawumia’s spokesperson, for the Vice President to look on?

Bawumia, Exit Gratefully and Quietly
Bawumia should always cover his face in shame when his people pontificate about his “sacrifice” for the party and rather attack those who really sacrificed for the Party. If truth be told, there has never been any time, in the history of NPP, that Dr. Bawumia has worked without him being assured nor promised a position. His interest and aspirations in the next presidential primary will be a challenge to that assertion. He is not ready to work for anyone but for himself!

Not contesting will mean working for some others to become President and Vice. For now, Bawumia is different from our delegates and grassroots members because they, like Alan, work for others to become Presidents and Vice Presidents of NPP. Eight years as the Vice-President of a political party you only joined 14 years ago, should be enough for any grateful person.

Today, we are being told by his spokesperson that without him NPP is finished and cannot get power? We were told he is the economic wizard who would turn Ghana’s economy around with his economic wizardry. The jury is out there! Now we are being told he is the god of NPP by his spokesperson. Asem no ay3 kridical! SMH! Small boys are you! BJ, come and see your NPP ooo!

My advice to him is that he should exit quietly with the President. He shouldn’t allow himself to be used by the mafia to just occupy space for them when their 8 years end. They certainly know he can’t win power for the party. They just don’t want to lose their hold on the party to anyone else, especially Alan Kyerematen, hence all the manipulations and machinations. But, change is coming and it shall surely come for the grassroots. Be hopeful! Be patriotic! Be counted!

Conclusion:
Never again should the spokesperson of the Vice-President or any of their cohorts use the word “SACRIFICE” in their political vocabulary. That word belongs to the rejected and neglected delegates and others at the grassroots who, like the widow in Mark 12:41-44, poured out their all for the party’s victories. We are waiting for Dr. Bawumia to bring our well deserved cash before he says bye bye to us!

Shalom shalom!
