Mampong Nursing & Midwifery Training College is poop bombed – what a shock!
On or around Thursday, 3rd February 2022, the students and the management of Nursing and Midwifery Training College (NMTC) in Mampong in the Ashanti region, woke up only to be greeted with “what a shock” news. This time around, it wasn’t about the usual incidents of young people or loved ones passing away unexpectedly but about the school been poop bombed.
They were confronted with an eyesore smelly scene. The school has been poop bombed by unknown person(s) probably during the wee hours of the day.
I can just imagine the foul stench of the poo reaching everywhere in the school, causing the holding or pinching of noses by people to reduce or avoid the intake of the stench by breathing.
What could have triggered the poop bombing of the school by the faceless persons who are yet to be discovered and or, apprehended?
Where did the poop bomber(s) get the poo from? When and how did they carry it to the school to contaminate the buildings, throwing them all over the floors, walls and balustrades?
Not wasting time, let me try to narrate some of the causes that could incite people to take to actions of defecating in classrooms or bombing schools with faeces or human excreta.
Human beings are different and some can resort to extreme measures to express their views or acquire their wish. If it were not so, most of the political lawlessness and the telling of lies to the faces of people to court their support to win political power wouldn’t be the flagship principle of the roguish NDC.
Having said that, I do not subscribe to, or condone, such despicable actions but as human beings are individuals with their own personal characteristics, there is not much that I can do but to request the law enforcement agents in the country to ensure that people and properties are safe and protected always.
People do resort to criminal actions of say, poop bombing schools, urinating into waters to serve to others to drink, etc., when they want to punish their victims for a reason.
From the beginning to mid-1970s, there was a Head teacher (Master) of the Kumawu Anglican Middle School mockingly called by the nickname “Master Koo Wuo”. He was very tall, likely over 7 feet and slightly stooped by the fact of his tall height.
Kumawu was at height of experiencing water supply shortages. Therefore, school heads or teachers arranged the pupils to fetch them water to their homes from the streams from time to time.
Master “Koo Wuo” was renting accommodation in my father’s house.
One day, a girl in form 3, urinated into the bucket of water she was taking to Master “Koo Wuo” in my father’s house. This is all because she told her friends Master “Koo Wuo” was very wicked.
He used to cane them for any least offence they commit without mercy hence her chance to repay him his wickedness was to serve him with urine-contaminated water.
Some of the pupils felt it was wrong. They had her reported and she got expelled from the school only for the late Kumawuhene Barima Asumadi Sakyi II to intervene in her behalf for her re-admission.
In mid-1960s while I was a pupil at Kumawu Roman Catholic primary school, some unknown persons on a number of occasions defecated onto the desks of Headteacher Mr Osei Kufuor and Teacher Oppong’s. These two mentioned persons had infatuation with caning pupils for any least and stupid offences.
When you were asked a question during lessons, the cane was always readying to give you strokes on your back well ahead of you answering the question. That was how bad they were. No wonder that their desks and classrooms were poop bombed.
Once in Paris, my workmate narrated to some members of our team how he once presented a bottle of whisky contaminated with urine to his wicked boss when he was on another site. He had opened the bottle, drank a glass from it and urinated into the bottle, tightened the lid back on and took it to the boss.
He served it to the boss and watched him drink it. The boss said it was nice without knowing it had been adulterated.
It is always when one wants to punish the other for reasons best known to them that they resort to deplorable, wicked or morally disgusting actions as described above.
Therefore, there could be underlying but unknown reasons for NMTC to have been poop bombed.
Could it be related to the contentious behaviour by the Principal, Mrs Gifty Hellen Dwamena Amoah, an alleged pompous, stubborn, wicked and disrespectful person?
She is currently having issues with some students at the school for all reasons that I have come to see as very unprofessional, concluding from the information available to me unless she presents her counter version of the story.
I may be compelled to believe that she is jinxed to suffer humiliation wherever she goes as head of school.
I have brief information on her regarding been kicked out of Teshie school she headed in 2017 and also, Hoehoe school, all through students demonstration.
Barely three years into her principalship at NMTC, Mampong, she has had to contend with two demonstrations. What is going on with her character that makes her become unwanted wherever she goes? She had better re-examine herself, I will suggest.
She can be either right or wrong but the persistency of her becoming persona non grata with the schools she heads raises concern that needs investigating.
I pray the police find the poop bombers.
The authorities are admonished to be up and doing to find a peaceful solution to the near antagonistic relationship between the students and the principal of the school.
It is my expectation that all the aggrieved students find the solution they seek following my published alerts to their plight.
