E/R: Police arrest two people for allegedly stripping teenagers naked for stealing GHS100, Phone

The Ghana Police Service has confirmed the arrest of two people who stripped some teenagers naked over accusations of theft.

Two teenagers on Wednesday were stripped naked and paraded at Akuapem-Adawso in the Eastern Region over allegations that they had stolen an amount of GHS100 as well as a mobile phone.

With the attention of the police drawn the matter after a video of the incident went viral, it has investigated and arrested the persons who stripped the teenage boys naked.

“The Police have today Wednesday, November 3, 2021, arrested two persons for forcibly stripping two teenagers naked and publicly parading them on the streets of Akuapem-Adawso in the Eastern Region,” a statement from the Ghana Police Service has said.

According to the police statement, psychologists have also been assigned to counsel the families of the victims who were also assaulted during the time they were stripped naked and paraded on the streets.
