Asene-Manso-Akroso NPP Descends On Akroso Chief Over False Claims, Demand Apology
The Asene-Manso-Akroso Constituency branch of the New Patriotic Party ( NPP) has taken the Chief of Akim Akroso, Nana Kwabena Ofori II to the cleaners over false claims that His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo led NPP government has done nothing for the people of Akim Akroso community over the past four years.
According to the NPP, the Chief made this false claims when Professor Naana Opoku Agyeman, running mate to former President John Dramani Mahama visited his palace in Akim Akroso recently
They have accordingly put the record straight, describing Nana's claims as baseless and malicious to His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo led NPP Government
At Press Conference held at Akim Akroso last Wednesday, the Asene-Manso-Akroso constituency Chairman, Mr. Frank Anim Bediako popularly known as 'Kalala' who read the Press Statement stated that whatever the Chief told Professor Jane Naana Opoku Agyeman was in his personal capacity and does not represent the views of the people in Akyem Akroso community.
"If not incompetency, how would you rate 32 development projects under NPP Government in four years over 12 projects under 16 years of NDC regime to be better than that of NPP?
Nana Kwabena Ofori II, Akyem Akrosohene come again, you're showing your political colours too much. Nana, your hypocrisy is becoming too much, we respect the stool you're occupying, please don't disgrace our respected chieftaincy. If you're NDC member, that's your own cup of tea, don't drag the image of Akroso community into muddy Waters
Nana Kwabena Ofori II Akim Akrosohene don't be deliberate, if you won't appreciate what His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo led NPP Government through our Honourable Member of Parliament for Asene-Manso-Akroso Constituency, Hon. George Kwame Aboagye aka ' Oluwa' is doing for us, don't tanish their image"
The statement further started that the Chief goofed in an attempt to rubbish the NPP in terms of development projects for Akyem Akroso community
Mr. Frank Anim Bediako popularly known as 'Kalala' wondered why Nana Kwabena Ofori II was deliberately refusing to recognize positive contribution of the NPP towards the development of the community
" Four years of Hon. George Kwame Aboagye (Oluwa) as MP for Asene-Manso-Akroso Constituency and His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo as President of the Republic of Ghana, here are some of the development projects undertaken so far in Akim Akroso alone;
Construction of 3-unit classroom block for Akroso D/A JHS, Refurbishment of Akroso Maternity block, completion of 10-seater W/C at Abaase, completion of 10-seater W/C at Amanfrom, and establishment of ICT center at Akroso D/A Primary.
Others include construction of 2-storey Boys dormitory block for Akroso SHS, construction of 6-unit classroom block for Akroso SHS, construction of Senior House Master's bungalow at Akroso SHS, construction of Male and Female Ward at the Akroso Health Center and construction of ultra modern market at Akim Akroso involving 365 stalls and 98 lockable stores
As I stated earlier, the NPP Government has done enough for the people of Akroso community
I can't conclude without mentioning road network. Reconstruction of Asamankese-Akroso road is ongoing, upgrading of 5.5km Akroso town roads and reconstruction of 42km Akyem Eshiem-Akyem Oda road through Akroso"
The NPP chairman further stated that the NDC failed to provide a single school in Akroso with School Feeding but today all the Six (6) public basic schools were enjoying the School Feeding Programme
" The NPP government has provided jobs for the youth while scholarships have also been given to over 50 students in Tertiary Education Institutions across the country
These and many more are the reason why we are asking Nana Kwabena Ofori II, Chief of Akyem Akroso to come public and apologize not only to His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo led NPP Government but to the good people of Akyem Akroso Community as a whole
We also want to call on the people to ignore whatever our Chief told the NDC running mate Professor Jane Naana Opoku Agyeman.
We have confidence in President Akufo Addo and our Member of Parliament Hon. George Kwame Aboagye (Oluwa) to continue with their development agenda for Akroso
For Sixteen (16) years in Government what the NDC did for the Akyem Akroso community was only twelve (12) development projects.
In less than four years, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo led NPP Government has provided thirty-two (32) development projects in Akroso alone
The physical evidence are there for all to see. This is a 'Locally based manifesto' so the difference between the NPP and NDC in terms of performance in the Akyem Akroso community is clear on the wall
Under former President John Agyekum Kuffour regime, Akyem Akroso community benefited from numerous projects including classroom blocks, construction of drains, the extension of communication network as well as the construction of small-town water supply systems for Akroso township among others".
