Ye shall possess the gates of your enemies
I. DAUGHTER OF ZION, “… and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies” (Genesis 22:17). Possessing the gates of your enemies is strategic conquest. It means you don't just survive in the land; you control what enters and what leaves. You become the gatekeeper of your destiny in this land. In ancient days, the gate was everything: It was where wars were won or lost, where judgments were passed, where commerce was controlled, and where kings sat. Whoever possesses the gate, possesses the city, and possesses power. The possession of the gate is what politicians seek for all year round through elections. Whoever possesses the gate of a state through elections controls everything. Believers, let us wake up and take possession of the political systems in this land, and we shall possess the gates of this country. Today, God is saying to you: In this same land where your enemies have possessed gates against you, you shall possess their gates! God was so moved by Abraham's obedience that He swore: "Thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies." This is not a promise; it is an oath. Hebrews 6:13-18 says when God swore, He swore by Himself because He could swear by no greater.
II. CHILD OF GOD, you are Abraham's seed by faith—Galatians 3:29. Therefore, gate-possessing power is your inheritance. You are not praying to get it; you are born to possess it. As a seed of Abraham, you must understand that your enemies are not human beings. Ephesians 6:12 says we wrestle not against flesh and blood. Your enemies are altars, systems, and forces that have held gates against you. You must also understand that the gate is where contracts are awarded, where policies are made, and where your finances are determined. For too long, others sat at that gate deciding your salary, your promotion, and your access while you sat as a passive activist. There is massive corruption at the gate, and you are watching; there is injustice at the gate, and you are silent. Propagandists have taken over the gate while you have the good news but remain silent. Wake up and possess the gate. God says you shall possess that gate. You are anointed to turn the battle to the gate, as in this land it is time to once again possess the gate. Your voice shall become the controlling voice.
III. SON OF MAN, I reveal to you through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit that the battles you fight today are so your children will not fight them tomorrow, but if you fail to fight, your children will have to come and fight it. But if you fight it today, your seed shall sit in judgment over those who judged you. Possessing means recovering gates that were lost. That land, that property, that inheritance that was taken by enemies in this land—you shall possess it again. Joshua 6:5—"...all the people shall shout with a great shout; and the wall of the city shall fall down flat..." Gates fall by sound. The sound of prayer, the sound of praise, the sound of prophetic decree. Stop complaining about gates. Start commanding gates. Every morning before you enter this land, command, "Gate of this city, open unto me. Gate of favour, lift up your heads!" Psalm 24:7—"Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lifted up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. "Do not visit the gate. Possess it. Establish systems. Build altars. Raise men. David did not just kill Goliath at the gate of Israel—1 Samuel 17:54 says he took Goliath's head to Jerusalem. He displayed victory at the gate.
IV. BRETHREN IN THE LORD, Luke 11:21-22, reveals the warfare strategy. - "When a strong man armed keepeth his palace, his goods are in peace: but when a stronger than he shall come upon him and overcome him, he taketh from him all his armour wherein he trusted and divideth his spoils." There is a strong man that has kept the gates of this land—a strong man of corruption, of delay, of rejection. But you are stronger in Christ. 1 John 4:4—"Greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world." You will come upon that strong man, overcome him, take his armour, and divide his spoils. His contracts become your contracts. His clients become your clients. His gate becomes your gate. Don’t sit there; the command is Joshua 8:1—"...go up to Ai: see, I have given into thy hand the king of Ai, and his people, and his city, and his land." Remember this is a DIVINE NEW DAY PROPHETIC WORD of encouragement sent forth through the authority and power of Christ Jesus and delivered to the brethren through God's Vessel, Francis Ameyibor. Yes! God has given the gate into your hand. Now go and sit there. Genesis 24:60—"And they blessed Rebekah, and said unto her, Thou art our sister, be thou the mother of thousands of millions, and let thy seed possess the gate of those which hate them.'"
V. 2026 IS OUR YEAR AND SEASON TO BE LIFTED UP—Enough of standing outside the gate begging. Enough of knocking on gates that refuse to open. Today, God hands you keys. In this land, in this city, in this economy, .
PRAYER: I am Abraham's seed; I possess gates! By the blood of Jesus, I have keys to the Kingdom. Every gate that has been shut against me in this land, be lifted now! The gate of economy is open to me. Gate of my family and future, I take you for Christ. Gates of this nation, hear my voice; I possess you. Where my enemies ruled, I shall rule.
