Who Is Your Master?
I. MY BELOVED SISTERS AND BROTHERS, today let us reflect on basic question of life: This is a question every soul must answer, not with lips but with life. We all serve and bow to something or someone. The question is not whether you have a master, but which one you have chosen to serve and bow to? Beloved, man was created to worship, and if you do not worship God, you will worship something or someone else. For some, the master is money; for others, it is pleasure, popularity, power, or people’s approval that becomes your master. Jesus Christ explained that we cannot serve two masters on equal terms. You will love one and despise the other, or you will be loyal to one and betray the other. Neutrality is an illusion, while indecision is still a decision. You take a decision by fault or default. What is your decision today? Who are you serving today? How faithful are you serving that master?
II. SON OF MAN, today, look at your life and ask: What controls your thoughts when you wake up? What dictates your choices? What do you fear losing most? What you cannot live without is your master. What is it that you cannot live without in your entire life? Beloved, let me remind you that every master besides God makes promises it cannot keep. You may be seeking and serving money because it seemingly promises security but leaves you with anxiety, insecurity, fear, and burden. The order of money is “Serve me, and I will give you peace"; yet the more you gather, the more you fear to lose. What about the pleasure of life, which promises fulfillment but leaves you with emptiness? After the momentary pleasure, what is left? After the momentary pleasure that alcohol offers, what next? What about the pleasure of immorality? Many homes have collapsed because of the pleasure of adultery. Sin is sweet in the mouth but bitter in the belly. Is your master leading you astray? Is your master causing you pain?
III. DAUGHTER OF ZION, people may accept and applaud you today based on what they may get from you, but that applause is fickle. Today they praise you; tomorrow they will crucify you, with the same mouth they used in applauding you. False masters do not love you; they use you for their interest. They demand more and give less. They are taskmasters like Pharaoh, who increased the bricks but withheld the straw. The devil has no retirement plan for his servants, only ruin. Romans 6:16 warns, "You are slaves of the one you obey, whether sin, which leads to death, or obedience, which leads to righteousness.” Choose your master carefully, because your master determines your destiny. Brethren, when God is your Master, you gain purpose; you will no longer live for temporary applause but for eternal reward. You gain peace because your provision is not tied to the economy but to the Kingdom. You gain power because the Spirit of the Master lives in the servant.
IV. PRECIOUS IN THE LORD, you cannot dethrone a false master by your willpower alone. You must enthrone the True Master who is Jesus Christ. Today, I encourage you to first recognize and confess honestly, "Lord, money has mastered me. Fear has mastered me. Lust has mastered me.” Today, I repent; I turn away from the wrong master, and I re-surrender to you. The Apostle Paul teaches us how to serve the true and only master: “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me” Galatians 2:20. Sister, the deeper you go with God, the more areas you yield: your time, your talent, your treasure, your tongue. In all things remember that one day we will all stand before the Master of masters. He will not ask how much you accumulated but whom you served. This is a DIVINE NEW DAY PROPHETIC WORD of encouragement sent forth through the authority and power of Christ Jesus and delivered to the brethren through God's Vessel, Francis Ameyibor. Yes! Let money serve you, but don’t serve money. Let people respect you, but don’t live for people. Let the world use your gifts, but don’t let the world own your soul. “Choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve... But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord” Joshua 24:15.
V. 2026 IS OUR YEAR AND SEASON TO BE LIFTED UP—So I ask you again, with eternity in view: Let your life answer: Jesus is Lord.
PRAYER: LORD! I renew my faith and trust in you. Lord, I will continue to look up unto thy MOUNTAIN for where my help will come from through thee. And Lord, this day let my expectations not be cut short. Through Christ Jesus' name I pray. AMEN.
