Bear one another’s burdens
I. DAUGHTER OF ZION, this week let couples bear one another’s burdens. This week let parents bear the burden of children, and let children share in the burden of parents. Let the politician bear the burden of the people and let the people understand the burden of the politician. Let the Minister of the Gospel bear the burden of the congregation, and let the congregation understand the Minister of the Gospel. Beloved, we cannot bear one another’s burden if we don’t understand him or her. Galatians 6:2 encourages, “Bear one another’s burdens and so fulfill the law of Christ.” Let it be known unto you that God designed us for connection, not isolation. From Genesis to Revelation, His plan has always been people walking with people. God designed that man would depend on woman and woman would depend on man. Genesis 2:18, “It is not good that man should be alone.” God designed man not to live in isolation but in company. Even Jesus Christ, the Son of God, chose 12, poured into three, and leaned on one in Gethsemane. You are not a superpower to walk alone.
II. SON OF MAN, if the Son of God needed support, how much more do we? The command is clear and present tense: Support each other. It’s not a suggestion for when we have extra time. It’s how the Kingdom works. Beloved, we support because Christ first supported us and is asking you to support another person. Romans 15:7 “Therefore welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God.” The standard of our support is not convenience. It is Christ. Be it known unto you that we support because we are one body. 1 Corinthians 12:25-26 “That there may be no division in the body, but that the members may have the same care for one another. If one member suffers, all suffer together; if one member is honoured, all rejoice together.” Your pain is my pain. Your victory is my victory. That’s body life. In John 13:34, Jesus Christ said, “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.” Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 tells us, “Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow.”
III. MY BELOVED SISTERS IN THE LORD, the Bible tells us in Hebrews 10:24-25. “And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together... but encouraging one another.” Believers, support is not just saying “I’m praying for you" but a purposeful action. James 5:16 “Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed.” Pray with people, not just for people. Read Scripture over them. Remind them of God’s promises when they forget. Proverbs 27:17: “Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another.” Beloved, in the Lord, Christianity is a daily duty. It’s a call to labour for one another. It’s not a weekly or Sunday church attendance to mark the roll call or show off; it is a responsibility. Christianity is a daily walk with Christ Jesus through our actions. In 1 John 3:17-18 the responsibility is clear: “But if anyone has the world’s goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God’s love abide in him? Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.” Meals, childcare, rides, money, help with a CV, fixing a roof. Faith without works is empty.
IV. MY DEAR BROTHERS IN THE LORD, Galatians 6:1: “Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness.” True Christianity is a call to restore those backsliding through love, strengthen the weak, and provide for the needy. The Bible teaches us in Philippians 2:4, “Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.” Beloved do not think that you have nothing to offer. Everyone has some form of needs. Therefore, 1 Peter 4:10 states, “As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace.” Let us offer our gift to someone who needs it. 1 Thessalonians 5:11, "Therefore, encourage one another and build one another up.” Create a habit of celebrating others publicly. In church, in the group chat, at work. You cannot support others if you are collapsing. Ask for prayer and reach out for help when you need it, for progressive strength comes through collective support. This is a DIVINE NEW DAY PROPHETIC WORD of encouragement sent forth through the authority and power of Christ Jesus and delivered to the brethren through God's Vessel, Francis Ameyibor, Yes! The enemy’s strategy is isolation through false pronouncements that no one understands you. You are the only one struggling. Stay quiet.
V. 2026 IS OUR YEAR AND SEASON TO BE LIFTED UP—God wants us knitted together. Tight. Strong. Unable to be pulled apart. Jesus Christ is our ultimate example. He carried our sin, our shame, our cross. Now He lives in us to carry each other. Church, the world will know we are His disciples by how we support each other (John 13:35).
PRAYER: Lord Jesus, thank You that You never leave us or forsake us. Make us a people who reflect You. Give us eyes to see needs, hearts that are compassionate, and hands that are willing. Teach us to bear one another’s burdens and, in doing so, fulfill thy law. Bind us together in love. In Your name, Amen.
