Lord, rekindle my zeal for you

I. DAUGHTER OF ZION, in this month of doing exploit for the Lord, let us ask God to rekindle our zeal for Him. Remember that it is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. This month let us daily refuel our spiritual tank through reading the Bible, prayer and worship. We need daily renewal for us to be empowered for the task and mission ahead. We cannot encounter and undertake divine missions without the enabling power from above. We need to build our relationship with God through the Holy Spirit. Beloved, is there a need for you to rekindle your zeal for the Lord? Are you still passionate about things of God? Are you still passionate about lost souls? Are we still going to preach the word to all people? Are we beginning to be more concerned with our church and how it appears? Internal decors and lighting? Has otherworldly pleasure creep into the church and our way of life? God has not changed; man has changed. God has not moved; we have moved far away from Him. Let us go back to the old-time religion.

II. SON OF MAN, old-time religion is not outmoded; we have become worldly and sophisticated. The old-time region is not outdated; we have lost our way. So, Lord, rekindle our zeal for you. Let us go back to the old-time religion which teaches us the true way to God, which teaches us to worship God in truth and in spirit. Let us go back to the old-time religion which inspires a burning desire for lost souls, which teaches us that as approved workmen we should not be ashamed of the Gospel of God. In 2 Timothy 2:15 we are encouraged to “study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth". As we daily build our capacity in our professional field, we must also build our spiritual capacity and strengthen our relationship with God. So we need to study the word of God daily. We need to work righteously; that’s the only way we will not be ashamed of what we do. Remember that Jehu didn’t go alone to demonstrate his zeal for the Lord on the battlefield. He invited Jehonadab, “Come and see." You need people who can see your life and tell you if your zeal is drifting.

III. MY BELOVED SISTERS IN THE LORD, in Jeremiah 29:7 we are encouraged to seek the welfare of the city. “And seek the peace of the city whither I have caused you to be carried away captives, and pray unto the LORD for it: for in the peace thereof shall ye have peace.” Our zeal for the Lord should also transform us to do what is right wherever we are. We are to seek the welfare of the city, progress and accelerated development irrespective of the political affiliation. We are to seek and work for peace. We are to be conscious at all times that we are the salt and the light of this world. We have a responsibility and a duty to perform and function as salt and light. God knows why he mandated us as the salt and light of our family, church, and company; among our friends; in our country; and even in politics. We must shine and share the light with those around us as our godly duty and mission. As the salt and light, let us not put our hope in a party, a policy, or a president. It’s in the Lord. Zeal for justice is biblical, but when political zeal makes you hate your brother, you have compromised.

IV. MY DEAR BROTHERS IN THE LORD, daily surrender will rekindle our zeal for the Lord. This month check what makes you angry. If injustice for God doesn’t bother you, but injustice to your ego does, your zeal has shifted. “Come and see my zeal for the Lord” is not a boast. It’s an invitation. It says, "My life is an open book. Look at how I love my wife, run my business, engage politics, pursue excellence and see if Christ is not the centre of it all.” The world will demand your zeal. Give it, but give it through zeal for the Lord. Let every other zeal be a tributary flowing from the river of your devotion to Christ. Where has your zeal drifted? Is it in your family name, your bank account, your political ideology, or your academic title? This is a DIVINE NEW DAY PROPHETIC WORD of encouragement sent forth through the authority and power of Christ Jesus and delivered to the brethren through God's Vessel, Francis Ameyibor, Yes! Today, let’s return to our first love.

V. 2026 IS OUR YEAR AND SEASON TO BE LIFTED UP—‘Come and see his zeal for the Lord.’

PRAYER: Lord, restore to me the zeal. I had when I first knew You. Lord, open our eyes. Let us see the army of heaven surrounding us. Strengthen the weary, restore the broken, provide for the needy, revive the burnt-out, and restrain us from quitting. In Jesus Christ's name we have prayed. Amen.
