Meet Ghana's Most Awarded Artiste

Kojo's music- Afro Pop is a well-tasty, magical blend of West Africa's Hi Life and Soukous, the Caribbean's Lovers' Rock, a hint of Afro-America's Rhythm and Blues, brewed in a large African pot and stirred with well-composed lyrics plus a voice so sweet. Like a polished diamond, Kojo Antwi also known as Mr. Music Man continues to sparkle, bringing light and joy to many through his sweet music and exciting shows across the globe.

In an exciting career spanning over three decades he has gone from bubbly vocalist through introspective songwriter and lead singer to consummate musician, arranger, producer and enigmatic performer. He is a sheer delight to behold on stage. The handsome, soft-spoken Sagittarian (born Nov 24) says in his ever-mellow tone 'years of playing in a band brought me this deep love for performing live and going through the motions with a select team to get a song just right'. Kojo Antwi started his Music career immediately after leaving school. His unique talent made him the front man of the then newly formed Classique Handels after playing with Boom Talents. Later Kojo joined Classique Vibes, the authentic and energetic youth band, within a short period captured the ears and eyes of Ghanaians and the neighboring West African countries.

The talent and potential of the band attracted an international agent who took the band to Europe, where they performed with overwhelming success in several festivals in Denmark and Sweden with well known Reggae & African Stars. The band was confronted with immigration and a few other problems within a short period of time and that brought about the disintegration of the band. Kojo after a short while went solo and released an album “All I need is you” which became a chart buster in Ghana. This album gave him the encouragement to continue and to become what he is today. Today, Kojo´s popularity in Ghana cannot be described with words alone. There are a series of awards, number one hits in charts around the country with every album release, nonstop airplays, TV shows in Ghana, Ivory Coast, Togo, Senegal and U.T.N.A. (United Television Network of Africa) which tell how fast his career has gained grounds to cover Africa as a whole.

Kojo Antwi is a diamond indeed! In-yer-face, warrior-like Nubian locks for the grit and rough of the uncut stone, and a tender-loving personality for that sparkle that is known the world over as a girl's best friend. Like a fine wine he sure has matured and become smoother with time but being the diamond that he is, the sparkle has always been right there. Great performers, it has been said, are like the stars in the sky, scattered all over the world. Wherever you look up at night, North, South, East or West you will find a few shining bright. Having seen some of the very best on my travels, I am happy to accept that Kojo Antwi is one of the world's sweetest lyricists and most exciting live performers.
