“I feel Shatta Wale still needs our presence” – Joint 77
Former SM Militants member Joint 77 believes dancehall superstar Shatta Wale still needs the presence of his former associates despite their separation from the Shatta Movement camp.
Speaking during a discussion on Adom TV, Joint 77 revealed that he has been working hard since the group was dismissed by Shatta Wale to reach a level of success that would make the dancehall star proud of him and potentially encourage him to call him back.
According to the musician, his determination to succeed is partly driven by his desire to prove himself after the fallout with his former boss.
Joint 77 explained that his relationship with Shatta Wale dates back to the early stages of their musical journey, stressing that he was involved with the dancehall star before other members, including Natty Lee and Captan, joined the group.
He indicated that he and Shatta Wale started their journey from scratch, making their relationship and shared history significant to him despite the challenges that eventually led to their separation.
The musician's comments suggest that he still values the relationship he built with Shatta Wale and has not completely ruled out the possibility of a reunion.
Joint 77 further stated that he believes Shatta Wale still needs the presence of the former SM Militants members around him, although he did not suggest that a reunion was imminent.
The SM Militants, which included Joint 77, Captan, Addi Self and Natty Lee, gained considerable attention following their association with Shatta Wale and the success of their hit song Taking Over.
However, their relationship with the dancehall star eventually broke down, with Shatta Wale publicly announcing their separation in 2020 and criticising their commitment to their musical careers.
