ShattaFest–MoMo Fest Thrill Ho With Seamless Joint Celebration
Stakeholders, particularly residents of Ho, have applauded Mobile Money Limited Ghana Festival (MoMo Fest) and the ShattaFest organisers for delivering a seamless and vibrant edition of this year’s celebration.
The collaboration brought together two major crowd‑pullers — ShattaFest and MoMo Fest — merging pure entertainment with fintech innovation in the Volta Regional capital.
ShattaFest, the brainchild of dancehall icon Shatta Wale, has evolved into one of Ghana’s most electrifying fan experiences. Each edition attracts thousands of SM loyalists who gather to celebrate the artiste’s influence and the enduring power of his community within Ghana’s dancehall culture. The festival continues to demonstrate how a dedicated fan base can transform into a large‑scale entertainment movement.
MoMo Fest, powered by Mobile Money Limited Ghana, introduced a different dimension. The festival blends music with financial technology and customer engagement, using performances, interactive activities, and digital experiences to promote MTN MoMo services and the MoMo app. While ShattaFest thrives on raw musical energy and artiste‑fan connection, MoMo Fest showcases how entertainment can be strategically leveraged for corporate marketing and digital financial inclusion.
Both festivals share one defining strength — their ability to attract the youth. Gen Z and Millennial audiences, driven by live events, social media buzz, and digital trends, continue to fuel the growth of such experiences. Industry analysts say the rising popularity of these festivals is a major boost to Ghana’s creative economy, expanding opportunities in music, event management, marketing, hospitality, and related sectors.
They also caution that with young audiences flocking to these events, organisers must prioritise safety, crowd management, and well‑structured environments to ensure fans enjoy themselves responsibly. As entertainment becomes increasingly commercialised, the ShattaFest x MoMo Fest partnership underscores a broader reality: music is no longer just entertainment — it is a powerful tool for audience engagement, brand connection, and economic activity.
