I will do DNA test before accepting any child – Mayorkun
Nigerian singer Mayorkun has disclosed that he intends to conduct a DNA test before accepting any child as his own.
The singer, whose real name is Adewale Mayowa Emmanuel, made the disclosure during a recent episode of the 'In My Opinion' podcast, where he discussed his plans for marriage and fatherhood.
Mayorkun said he had already informed his girlfriend that he would want a prenuptial agreement before marriage and a DNA test after she gives birth.
According to the “Body Cheche” hitmaker, his position did not go down well with his girlfriend, but he remains determined to have the test done.
“I told my girlfriend we'd have to do a prenup and DNA test when she gives me a child, just to be sure. She got upset,” he said.
Mayorkun further disclosed that he had even considered conducting the test without informing his partner, saying the outcome would determine his next steps.
“I have thought of doing the DNA test without telling her. If it is my child, no issues. If not, everybody will hear about it,” he added.
His comments come amid growing public conversations in Nigeria about paternity testing and allegations of paternity fraud, with some public figures and advocates encouraging men to establish biological paternity before assuming parental responsibilities.
