Akufo-Addo plays father of the bride at Bozoma Saint John’s wedding

A scene from the engagement

Former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo played the role of father of the bride as marketing icon and Real Housewives of Beverly Hills (RHOBH) star, Bozoma Saint John, tied the knot with entrepreneur Keely Watson in a glamorous traditional wedding at his Nima residence in Accra.

In a moment that has been described as an honour, the former President stepped in as Bozoma’s father, receiving the marriage on behalf of the family at his residence on Friday, August 21, 2026.

Observers have noted that Nana Akufo-Addo continues to grow and glow graciously, and Bozoma has remained loyal to a boss whom she now calls father. “Such relationships, may we nurture and experience them,” a family source noted.

The ceremony was the first of two weddings planned by the couple. The second, a white wedding, is scheduled for Los Angeles on November 21, 2026.

Bozoma, 49, and Keely, 50, exchanged vows in custom Kente cloth by Goba Kente and Naana Adobea, adorned with layers of gold jewellery.

The ceremony was attended by nearly 1,000 guests, including about 250 who flew in from the United States and United Kingdom.

The guest list brought together Ghana’s political elite, Afrobeats royalty and Hollywood stars.

In attendance were former First Lady Rebecca Akufo-Addo, former Second Lady Samira Bawumia, businessman Nana Kwame Bediako (Cheddar), Nigerian star Tiwa Savage, Ghanaian hitmakers KiDi, Gyakie, Efya Nokturnal, King Promise, actors Majid Michel and Joselyn Dumas among others.

From the United States, RHOBH castmates Kyle Richards, Dorit Kemsley, Sutton Stracke, Kathy Hilton and Jennifer Tilly attended in bright traditional Ghanaian prints. Other celebrities included supermodel Ashley Graham, actress Yaya DaCosta, Yandy Smith, Quad Webb, Emmanuel Acho and Elaine Welteroth. Tiwa Savage stole the spotlight on the dance floor when her hit ‘All Over’ was played.

For Bozoma, who was born to Ghanaian parents and became a Ghanaian citizen in 2022, the Accra ceremony was deeply personal, honouring her heritage.

The businesswoman, former Chief Marketing Officer at Netflix and Uber, was previously married to Peter Saint John. They welcomed their daughter Lael in 2009 before his death from cancer in December 2013.

She has described her engagement to Keely, which happened in August 2025, as a testimony.
